I was an emo/scene kid listening to screamo, then moved to a small town in Canada and started listening to old rock which gave me an appreciation of later music... Then I sidled into grunge. I'd listened to Nirvana growing up thanks to my step Dad but I only loved it as a late teen. Got into hard drugs with an ex bf who was 10 years older, and spent years wasted listening to grunge and some punk/ska like Sublime. I'm in my late 20s now and a recovering addict. Boy do I wish I could go back to my late teens and early 20s though. Fun times! Plus I was dating romantic musos... Hard enough to find a guy who even likes the same music as me nowadays. Just thought I'd add.. My favourite tshirts are my oversized Nirvana ones from tours. One is holey and starting to fall apart but I love it. Got some modern ones too.. But they're not the same. I see teens wearing them, probably with no idea who Kurt was 😔

Great song. I especially love the vocals. They're so... Raw, weak, unprofessional, and Primal... Just as good Grunge and Alternative is meant to be. Nirvana was shitty Noise with some good instrumentals here and there, and amazing lyrical content, and that is just what this is. Fucking shitty-ass Noise and raw, unprofessional vocals.This is why Alternative is Alternative, and that's why I fucking love it.

something I've noticed about nirvana covers is that people consider them bad if the vocalist doesn't sound exactly like Kurt, and another thing, suprisingly, covers always get hate when a woman sings, this is really apparent on the rock n roll hall of fame induction songs and honestly, why do these kinds of people even like nirvana if they clearly dont understand what the band stood up against?

You've got to love all the millennials running to their "safe spaces" about this cover and crying about how bad it is. Sonic Youth preceded Nirvana by several years, and were a clear and noted inspiration. Kim Gordon is the closest you're ever going to get to another Kurt Cobain in the current music industry; she's a dying breed, and "lol", she was the catalyst to "Smells Like Teen Spirit"...you should thank her...you should hope that more people like her (and Cobain) get their voices heard in the music industry.

I love Sonic Youth and I LOVE NIRVANA. But this version is not so great. I like Kim's voice on all sonic youth songs (Except this), but out of interest, why is it when Sonic Youth does a cover song she has to sing. Most are good (E.g. Is it my body, I wanna be your dog) but i think Thurston would sound great singing this. Just my Opinion. Nirvana and Sonic Youth forever :)
