My run on flying battery zone.
Lots of jumping around & shield trickery.

I remember playing on this zone as a kid. I heard "Flying Battery Zone" and expected a bunch of double A's and 9-volts to be flying around and attacking me. I even called the hovering platforms batteries. It wasn't for a while until I found out that a battery is an armed fortification. Good times.

I love the old Sonic games! I've never been too much into platform games, but these are just brilliant. The backgrounds are very vivid, the music just rocks, the characters are creative; I especially love Robotnik. The concept of releasing little animals is great. These games are creativity and effort at their best. Now that I'm done being carried away, great job on getting through the level so swiftly. Too bad our old Sega Mega Drive broke down years ago...

I don't think this is the fastest time possible in this level anymore, but this video exemplifies better than anything other what I love about Classic Sonic speedrunning. MRIdAS2K seems completely at one with the game; totally in control of every nuance of his character, flowing through the levels like an unstoppable rush of water.

I use a PS2 pad through a magicbox 3 converter. The advantage to the PS2 pad is the buttons are analogue so they don't need as much pressure for them to register. I just run my thumb over [] X and O and release the down button quickly. It should result in a quick spindash.

Continuing from my last post look at sky deck on Sonic Adventure. That was great level design and enjoyable gaming and yet there were no sections where you had to speed as fast as you could in a straight line, Lost World was a perfect balance between speeding (down the tunnels) and set pieces and puzzles (the snake water chamber, the reflecting mirrors and huge room at the end.) The MegaDrive (Genesis) sonics were all class but Sonic Adventure I.M.O was the last real great Sonic Game!

Don't worry man, there's FAR better people than me out there. look on the positive side, it gives people somthing to shoot for, and is helpful for people wanting to do run's themselves. Don't give up on a class game, in 99% of cases, there's ALWAYS someone better than you.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE 100%. Its what iv been saying to myself in my head whilst watching garbage like sonic heroes and that new Sonic unleashed on youtube. When you watch Sonic 1,2,3&Knuckles and Sonic Adventure it is all about level design, traps & puzzles only at times did you have speed sections. They started to forget this with S.A.2 and if you look at the new Sonic games its just running in a straight line as fast as you can.
