I remember being on this level for so long. I actually used to have an old gaming magazine that had a centerfold page showing off the entire layout of the stage that I would use to guide me. The struggle of growing up during a time with no home internet.

I did those rips and I did notice, but back then Kega Fusion was messing shit up and it was all we had to work with. ValleyBell later on re-ripped with the proper YM2612 instructions.

Yo for what's it's worth I really dig the errors in the emulated version, it's got it's own character and I've gotten used to hearing it from playing different versions of the game. it's like analog vs digital audio produvtion, technically digital is more accurate but the errors and such give analog the charm and warmth people associate with it so analog stays relevant even in the age of cracked daws and softsynths. basically a long winded way of saying the glitch versions are still appreciated as well lol

I know what you're saying, but I wouldn't go as far as to equate analogue warmth with ear-assaulting donks. lol. I wouldn't mind so much, but the sad truth is that people genuinely believe the donks are how the track is supposed to sound. So every upload or remix of this track is just plain wrong. It's sad. :(

I can confirm the music sounded proper like this on an original Sega Genesis model 1. The Model 2's sound chip messes up with one of the drum sounds and causes the annoying loud beeps.

Gosh this level is particularly grim. I mean, Sonic is literally in an animal prison and roboticizor facility and the boss just sees him throwing himself into the sinister device to try and shut it down.

Sonic Spinball is pretty clever with its level themes. Underneath the building you have the sewers, at the lowest level is the boiler room, above that is the computer room... it’s a shame the game isn’t longer or we might have had a unisex bathroom level...

This is the most menacing track in the game thus far when playing through. Makes sense, this is the epicenter of Robotnik's fortress, the entire base is built around this giant roboticizer. This track basically sells "This is it, what you've been working towards, don't choke now!"
