I'm super interested in the controller mode but we got 30 seconds on it and that's all, why does nobody want to show it more in depth? Mostly I want to know if you can scroll through parameter banks easily (and even if you can see the bank names on top of the name of each parameter) and how the sequencer work. If anyone reads this at ableton I'd really like just a remote controller in this form factor; with maybe the screen of the push; but weirdly nobody seem to want to make such a device (novation?)

ok this is something totally new and innovative, the power of a heavyweight Audiosoftware company in a lil hardware device.

This looks great and is cheaper than I would have expected for the feature set.

Can this thing do jazz drumming? I've been studying jazz guitar and bass. And it's really hard to find drum machines for it. I don't to go to youtube anytime because there are times where I'm just offline and away from my phone and pc, I just want to press something and randomize some jazz drumming.

When comparing to Push, how would you describe it? Is it "Push Lite"? Is Live Standard edition enough to work on the set created on Move (including its instruments) or Suite edition is required?

@@ZETONEproductions You have a lot of gear. You don't need the Ableton Move to do anything. I use to sell Pro Audio to guys like you. You have no use with the Ableton Move and you know it.

As an Ableton Live suite owner, I have 0 interest in this and I am glad that 12.1 is finally out. I hope this sells well and generates more money for Ableton to keep developing the software. As an MPC Live mk1 owner, I have no idea why someone would splash out used MPC Live 1 prices for something so incredibly limited...but like I said, I hope this is a marketing success for the company.

is it possible to switch between controlling live to the 4 tracks without stopping the audio of the move so we can extend the 4 tracks?

all I want to know is can I use it as a controller for analog synths/drum machines? But if it is not possible to use it as a controller for ableton maybe is not worth it....
@obshakyКүн бұрын
Looks intriguing but I already have a Push 3 and use Note when out and they integrate well enough. Not sure if bringing hardware to the Note workflow (and do it on an Ipad Mini) would work for me but I'll keep an eye on this if they add Push integration in some useful or fun way. Maybe by then it'll be down to $400...

Finally something to go toe to toe with MC-101. Wait, can you sound design on it? Also can you have different sounds per clip on the same track?
@flownautКүн бұрын
you could have 3 drum racks, one for drums, one for basses, one for chords, each pad on the drum rack can be played chromatically so no limits there, and then still use the final track for anything you want, maybe a unique sample thats really modulated or something idk

I would say it’s an amazing modern version of the novation circuit. I can’t think off the top of my head any other groovebox in this price range with so much polyphony. And 256 steps worth of sequencer!
@RootinrPootine21 сағат бұрын
Yeah I mean, normal complaints about this and that but at this price point I think this is a home run, isn’t it? And a lot more is coming. Note has a hefty feature roadmap. Incredibly well designed app.

A damn clever interface I would say. This is minimalism done right! Really like the form factor. Internal mic and poly aftertouch are just fantastic! (Edit: just heard about the price, damn yes!)

The Workflow is easy. Four tracks are enough. And it is much Better than Note app on touch screen. Can one sync it to an MC101?
@juschu85Күн бұрын
I don't get why they didn't add simple MIDI in and out. I guess you could just connect a MIDI interface to the USB-A port, but I doubt just adding MIDI in and out with some mini jacks wouldn't have driven the costs up that much, while adding a feature that might be important for a lot of people. And MIDI won't eat up a lot of processing power. So there could technically be a lot of plain MIDI tracks to sequence external gear, while you still use all the 4 tracks for the internal instruments. I don't see any scene launch buttons, but with just 4 tracks you don't need them anyway. With 4 internal tracks and a few more pure MIDI tracks, you suddenly really need them. So they need to reuse some of the existing buttons with a shift layer to give us that feature. There are two step sequencer buttons under every column/scene. Perhaps the left one could start this scene and the right one stops all running clips in that scene (that would be another new feature exclusive to Move). Even if that's not yet in the software right now, it shouldn't be a problem to add that with a firmware update. Apparently, they want Move to be the hardware version of Note, which means they should have the same feature set. But there are are MIDI interfaces for iOS devices, so that feature would make sense in Note too. I'm using Android, but as far as I understood iOS music apps, you could even control other audio apps with Note that way.

They should have called it 'Ableton Limitations'. From what i've seen it looks kind of limited especially for that price! When will these companies stop trying to rip off their customers?
