I can listen to Dave talk synths all day long, and Nick always brings humor out of him in the process. Talking about Dave’s favorites is always a particular pleasure. Thanks.

Dave is for me Mr. Black Magic himself from Sexy Beast. Always. Love Oddity. Had the first version, will be getting the V3 for sure.

Great video! So nice to see the man responsible for this fantastic soft synth! I have had Oddity3 for over a month and never noticed the blue highlighting on the sliders indicating modulation. What a simple yet brilliant design touch!

A regular series of "Desert Island Patches" gets my vote, I'd love to see that! Love the Oddity 2, and I think I'll be getting the upgrade.

Absolutely love Oddity3. Bought it as soon as it came out and have used it in a bunch of tracks already 👌
@Michael_Smith-Red_No.52 жыл бұрын
Gforce's Oddity was the first time I purchased hardware that was based on a software emulation, instead of the other way around. It sounded so good, and I learned how to program an Odyssey with it. V3 came out, and I had to get it. Haven't tried most of the new features yet, as I've just got it, but the sound palate is so much broader. You can make it sound *very, very* close to a classic version, which is what I'm doing (hence not investigating the new features, as of yet).

It is the first time I hear lovely sounds "coming" from the HydraSynth :) GForce Software is doing a great job!

Good to see the Hydrasynth doing its magic as an amazing Synth MIDI Controller. 👍

Very much agree about the "cinematic" facet to this, which was a hugely pleasant surprise to me. Great value add. I like that it still runs well on an older machine and can confirm it plays really great using breath control. Fantastic plugin, really awesome release! I was so excited to get this for breath controller lead stuff but the ambient pads and what not are just insanely good.

Very rich sounding synth. The harmonics are really good.

I’m not surprised the devs use the wonderful Hydrasynth as a controller for their plugs. It’s such a beautiful combo with their other synth, OB-E - most patches have better poly aftertouch expressivity than many of Hydra’s own factory patches. Oddity sounds incredible btw - much better than Korg’s own soft synth emulation. Wish I could have it on iPad /AUV3 ..

I DO HOPE that GFORCE’s brilliant masterpiece-MINIMONSTA-is also scheduled for Update and LARGE GUI!! I had corrected lenses installed into Hobby Glasses, just to be about to read the writings on the MONSTA’s GUI, implied being…I loved it enough to pay my Optomotrist to make Lenses that would give me 20/20 at 24” (face to MAC screen).

Wonder when chatGPT will design a software synth? I decided to avoid buying any more "stuff" but will make an exception for Dave as he is an exceptional designer.

Good ol' dave - I love the Odyssey - Don't own the Oddity personally but clearly even since V1 it's top drawer software really. On my radar more so is the Oberheim. (I don't think I can share FB links, even for science it would seem! - all the best)

(The square pitch mod' @ 11:00 sounds like a major sixth - Would also like to merit Nick on his techy questions; highlighted loads of the details throughout and a decent indepth watch all round really...)

Surely Dave won’t abandon MiniMonsta! I own EVERY Minimoog emulation…ALL OF ‘EM! ONLY MiniMonsta NAILS what Rick Wakeman was able to make the Minimoog ❤ do! And, YES, I own ODDITY 3…and every other GForce instrument (except the latest mellotron-too poor at present or I’d own it as well).

ive had a plugin for years i downloaded somewhere. i guess it was the original gforce oddity vst and it was always a go to favorite. i'll be picking this one up shortly since i missed out on a few deals for a hardware version due to procrastinating and budget. 🤦♂

What external FX is that Odyssey going through? The reverb sounds lush!
@dancarter55952 жыл бұрын
Just heard it's the built-in reverb. Wow. Buying now.
@thebreathalyzer Жыл бұрын
I think the built-in reverb is fantastic. That's where you can get great poly synth sounds that are lush and not so Odyssey like. I thought like an Oberheim or CS-80. I love this, really exciting release.
