Here's something interesting: Out of the metal sonics, we see only one is in his traditional colours. The rest are light shades of grey with yellow highlights around the eyes. And looking at how the soundtrack for movie 3 references Sonic cd's naming convention for the stages, I feel the next movie will definitely pull from Terminator. Hell, it would be a fun call back to heroes if neo metal can shape-shift into sonic, and that's how they adapt silver trying to kill sonic from 06

One thing that I saw on the internet that would be cool is: Sonic 4 happens, Metal Sonic does NOT turn good, he'll never do that, he Sonic's literal opposite, after all. But what they said was, Shadow wouldn't be in Sonic 4, he would have a series or a movie which would introduce the concept of Mephiles, setting him up to be like the big villain of the trilogy, the Thanos of the Sonicverse. And then Sonic movie 5 would end on a big cliffhanger to Sonic 6, where Mephiles is the big villain, ending with them fighting Solaris. This would be so cool!

While this theory is interesting, I think that Shadow's spin-off will probably be more of a story delving into where he came from. With the way they had his backstory in the movie, I feel they are laying the groundwork to bring in the Black Arms and Black Doom.

Great theory, much of it was also in my mind after watching the movie! There's one detail about Metal Sonic that's worth pointing out: Fleetway's Sonic the Comic. In that continuity, there is a group called the Brotherhood of Metallix, comprised of, would you look at that, an army of Metal Sonics led by a singular, more advanced, model called Emperor Metallix. Just like how the movies took from Archie with the portable Warp Rings, plus many aspects from Sonic X, I 100% believe Metal's adaptation will be directly inspired by the lore from the Fleetway comics. (Johnny Vector has a great video summarizing that story!)

I feel like considering Eggman/Robotnik’s sendoff in Sonic 3, it would make sense for him to not return, and we have stories they can adapt to not involve him. It would kinda make sense to have Amy be from the future, but I’m strongly against that. I believe Amy should find out that Sonic is in danger through her tarot cards, and comes to save Sonic, which can keep her as someone from the present time, so we don’t have a plot that’s literally almost identical to Terminator, and also keep Silver’s gimmick of being from the future sorta unique to only him. I can understand the whole G.U.N. creating Metal Sonic thing, it makes sense, and it would mean that Metal Sonic isn’t really from the future as per say, more that there’s a future version of him that comes to the present. Having the Metal Sonic that G.U.N. creates become Neo Metal Sonic because his AI is too intelligent is a great way to adapt elements of Sonic Heroes, having him rule a bad future is a great way to parallel the bad future in Sonic CD, and the army of Metal Sonic is a great way to reference the Metallix from the Fleetway comics. Perhaps the Master Emerald gets involved in some way with it being stolen by G.U.N. and being tested as a power source for a Time Machine, which can pull from 06, and maybe in the third act, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy have to travel to the future in order to stop Neo Metal Sonic, but he turns into Metal Overlord by using his hivemind of Metal Sonic to create a bigger body for himself, making Sonic use the Master Emerald to go Super and stop him. But, here’s the setup for Sonic 5, during the fight, Knuckles is almost killed and the fire within him disappears, the others save him, but he still doesn’t have a fire, and after defeating Metal Overlord and returning to the present, everything seems fine, Neo Metal Sonic is never created by G.U.N. and the future should be fine, but unbeknownst to anyone, Knuckles’ injury inadvertently unleashed Iblis, meaning they weren’t able to stop a Bad Future because they created another one, which is why Silver would show up in Sonic 5, and because Shadow was missing in Sonic 4, and if they really wanna bring Eggman back too, perhaps the Ark’s Chaos Energy core exploded, but sent everything within a certain radius of the Ark and inside of the Ark into the past when Knuckles and the Echidna tribe fought Iblis, so Eggman’s redemption could still work, he could help the others defeat Iblis.

I think the next movie will be an adaptation of both Sonic CD and Sonic Heroes. Have the army of Metal Sonics be from the future, and have them be controlled by Neo Metal Sonic. You get team Sonic, (maybe) Shadow, and Amy coming together to defeat him, maybe have him transform into Metal Overlord or something close to that. If this is something close to this, and it is Neo Metal from the future, this isn't really much of a stretch imo. But then again, if the movies are a bit more grounded, I don't think we'll get Metal Overlord.

YES! My thoughts exactly! I had a different character in mind, when i saw that many Metal Sonic’s, i immediately thought of Emperor Metallix. Our theories were incredibly similar, i thought that G.U.N. saw the power of both Sonic and Shadow, and like you said would build a robotic hedgehog to counteract them both (i thought it would be an large AI machine like A.M. who floats around like Metallix.) Eventually, Metallix would see how horrible humanity is (and what we do to eachother) and decide to purge Earth of humans, Team Sonic would try to get in the way and Metallix sees Sonic as a equal match which leads to his undying will to become alike or better then Sonic. In the future, Team Sonic fails to stop Metallix and he wins and wipes the Earth clean of humans, or enslaves them, leading to a dystopian future where Amy began to grow up and work for Metallix, but eventually a group would form called The Resistance to defeat Metallix and reclaim Earth. To do this, The Resistance found and studied the absolute power of the Master Emerald, and their smartest would find a way to harness Chaos Energy and travel back in time to help aid Sonic and prevent Metallix from taking over the world. However, Neo Metal Sonic is more recognizable, and would be a better fit for the Sonic movie franchize, but then again if we do get a scene where Robotnik turns into Neo Metal Jim Carrey is getting out of the movie business soon and probably wont be up for acting as Robotnik again. (Especially after he had to play two characters.) Great video! Im really happy i can relate to someone who enjoys Sonic like i do :)

I don’t like the idea of Amy being a Time Traveler I respect the idea but that just sounds like we will rarely see her after this movie and I want her to be a part of the main cast forever I think she has loved on the same Island as Sonic and always admired him and even had a crush on him but never got the confidence to talk to him eventually she finds that Sonic is gone and goes out to find him using rings over the course of all of those years she gains a powerful hammer and the skills to fight but her search takes her a good long while eventually she finds him as they are about to start a race the same race at the end of the third movie she uses another ring to catch up with him And then the post credit plays out

Even before the movie released, I was a firm believer that Metal Sonic’s portrayal would do wonders by taking inspiration from the T1000. There’s a great opportunity to show off a cool, ruthless, and (within kid friendly limitations) terrifying foe, one without a conscious to face off against Sonic. And with Eggman seemingly out of the picture, leaves this creation unchecked, making him even more dangerous. I’m so so so glad people are thinking the same Edit: I never even played Sonic CD but with the time travel aspect and Amy potentially acting as the Kyle Reese to Sonic’s Sarah Connor, the connections are even stronger. I would suspect GUN being the ones creating Metal as well, especially Rockwell. We saw in the Knuckles series as it was of how Rogue GUN agents work with "The Buyer" who once worked with Robotnik before Agent Stone came into the picture. Since he was using Chaos Energy as it was in that series to fuel his tech especially Knuckles energy mainly so that his story ironically put him in Sonic's exact shoes in Sonic 2. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest she is working with The Buyer(assuming he isn't dead) or worked with him in the past. Hell it could be The Buyer's tech that could be used to make Metal instead of Robotnik's

I think metal sonic is basicly cell. Robotnik died and a AI copy of him activates to get vengence on sonic and friends. This honestly seems like the most plausible plot for sonic 4. I'm mostly curious how they are gonna explain how Amy and this "resistance" got too Earth in the first place. Who knows maybe Amy and Silver being in the movie will reveal the existence of a "hedgehog tribe" and delve into how Sonic ended up with Long Claw in the first movie, and why the Echidna tribe was after him in the first place. Extra: Also I've enjoyed how the Sonic movies have placed little breadcrumbs that feel like they are adding up to something bigger. A lot of unexplained parts of the universe that seem like they are related to some big threats. I'm hoping we see Chaos or Black Doom as being some kind of over arching antagonist of this film series.

I have a theory, that metal was created by eggman, Mabye during Sonic 2 in the death egg off screen, and for whatever reason metal activates at some point in time, makes an army, and goes back in time to kill his arch enemy Sonic before he gets stronger, but Amy somehow knows about this and goes back in time to save him, I think the movie will consist of team Sonic +amy and metal trying to kill each other for the most part, and end with sonic team +amy going back in time to destroy metal before he takes other, and end with metal neo and metal overlord or something, and Mabye just mabye metal goes back in time, and nabs eggman from sonic 2, bringing eggman back into the story.

I had the same exact idea a week ago but not as developed. I predicted that movie 4 would be based on sonic cd and the sonic OVA and terminator. But I think I would want neo metal to be saved for another movie in the future and for silver and an adaptation of the Sonic 06 story to be it’s own movie as well. I think a lot of fans just really want to rush in as many elements as possible super fast but we should really try to space the stories out because we shouldn’t try to combine sonic cd and sonic heroes and sonic 06 all into one movie because this movie franchise could literally last 20 years so we have plenty of time for something like sonic movie 9 to come out.

I actually think G.U.N. will be dissolved soon. Maybe in movie 4, since the Abraham Tower stand in is dead so that aspect of Shadow the Hedgehog which is the only other game where G.U.N. was important will be lost. Also I think GUN will go of the grid after the events of movie 3 since they basically caused the events of the movie by building the eclipse cannon and trying to capture Team Sonic. This will lead to them trying one last time to kill Sonic and fail spectacularly, which will end with Sonic and friends fighting Metal Overlord and Metal Sonic to become the Eggman stand in moving forward.

Still doesn't explain how if Amy, Silver, etc ended up on earth to lead a resistance, my theory is (if Jim Carrey doesn't return this time) Neo came online as a contingent plan if something happened to Robotnik, as it becomes more self aware things turn into a Ultron situation, Stone, GUN, or the military is unable to stop him, so the government enlists Sonic's help again and Amy came to warn him via a tarot card reading etc, maybe time travel does play a factor maybe more towards the end or final act of the film, in which once things go back to normal but unknowing cause some ripple effect that affects the entire universe in the future in which during the post credits we see Silver and whatever greater threat being summoned

When the Eclipse cannon exploded - it was with chaos energy, a very unusual form of energy that could possibly be detected very far away - so other civilizations could understand this. The warp rings could not move people and objects in time, nor to different dimensions - they only form portals between places in the same universe. Shadow had come to Earth from space, and as a Mobian even though he may have been created, it means that Mobius and Earth are in the same galaxy. Amy may have come there to find out what had happened and she was not unfamiliar with the Metal Sonics.

In my opinion the metal sonics are either from the future or space. I see no other option. Unless they pull an Archie and have an alternate Eggman replace Robotnik.

think is more like gun has built sonic and sent out a bunch of drones to track down and kill him and originally sonic was supposed to die but amy has been sent from the future to save him and is how she knew to be there in the middle of nowhere waiting for him. in her time sonic died then metal sonic kept getting stronger and eventually starts invading other planets, so she has come back to save sonic because he is only one strong enough to stop metal sonic from taking over

I've been saying that metal Sonic is going to be a time travel plot for months. 06 has already been tapped into vis the knuckles show as the Iblis fire demon. Metal will serve as a Goku Black kind of figure. Amy will travel through time after Metal to save sonic, alla Kyle Reese. Idk if they'll make any related to sonic though.

It's probably just me, but i dont like the idea of multiple metal sonics I love metal sonic and his potential for writing. i just dont know if i feel intimidated by multiple metals, which makes the cool factor and threat level for me seem less than. Im not sure i have the right words yet, but i wanted to share my thoughts.
