Running a 3 blade prop to deep will absolutely cause high temps and cutting out. The ESC can't handle the amp draw. You can try running it more in line with the keel, or more shallow and see if that helps. Also, adjust the trim tabs to get more of the boat out of the water, Align them with the hull. Adjust the C/G as well. Your turn fins should just skim the water when you're running straight, barely touching the water surface. Use soft pack batteries, lightest ones you can find with the highest mah rating. Some guys pay attention to the "C" rating, but it is a marketing ploy and doesn't mean a thing in how a battery will perform. Always run larger props shallow to avoid heat and high amp draw issues if you must use large props.

Thanks for this great info. I will definitely be upgrading my esc. I've been learning a lot about rc boating world. Thanks for the feedback.

Awesome run brother, your right about the power cuts I had To be temp cuts due to excessive heat.

I'll keep my eye on it. going to try some lighter batts in the next run. I'm bringing my stock prop for the next test to compare.

Fat fingered my comment so I'll try again.....That prop is for only a couple of passes then bring it in. Run the stock prop for leisure running on and off plane. Luckily you didn't burn up the electronics. Those batteries are heavy in the front of the boa too. Nice vid.

No problem.. I'm going to try it again this weekend. I will take your advice on the stock prop for sure.

Stock esc in my v2 died in a week 7 mo,s later still waiting for my replacement from horizon.

That sucks. I'm taking mine out with the stock prop and see if it does it again. I use these same lipos in my cars and trucks with no issues so I got to assume the esc is the problem. Hope you get yours soon brother.

just a thought but it seemed like you need some positive angle on the stinger or maybe the mad lizzard trum tabs they helped me love the looks as well and it's a straight bolt up . left turn is tough because the rudder is a little shorter then the v1 was. anyway good run my pb recorded was 60 nph. not sure on the cut out , have you changed the motor timing, I bumped mine up but I also put the firma 160 in it cause the 120 on off switch went bad.iwas getting cuts when I over bumped up timing to 7.5 dont think the motor was able to handle the change went down to 3.2 good to go. peace

Yes I'm trying to source the sw v1 rudder which Ironclad (Eric) said it will bolt right up. Wouldn't be good for speed runs but I can always swap it out. I never messed with motor timing but I think I need to with a 160 as well. I believe the electronic got hot causing the cut out issue. My newest speed run video will show this and also tried the Spektrum G2's which one of them failed. I will explain it in another video. Thanks

I like the extra long turn fins fron ose also the shape is better then their large but be careful they are also extra sharp and pointed .

Thanks for the heads up. Mad Lizard is releasing his SS fins tomorrow on his website and going to order them to try out first.

Seems like u need a bigger esc. a 160a should do ya

I agree with you 100%. I want to push the stock electronics before I upgrade.

@@nwirc looks like you're pretty damn close seeing those temps, and the cutting. Use caution, dont want to see tha beautiful boat burn👍

I think the prop pulled to many amps, and that esc is too small for that setup.

You are 100% right! I was new to all this from when I published this video. I own several boats now and learned a expensive lesson.

That esc is the biggest piece of shit go buy a the 160 amp. You will hundred percent not regret it. Especially for doing speed runs and using an alternate prop.

I agree 100%.. I'm definitely going to upgrade the esc soon. Thanks
