finally someone made music and not just drones. I cant wait to make some ambient synth tunes on mine.

To be honest, I started making songs on this just because those are more familiar and easier to do for me. I am still figuring out how to make more traditional ambient music that I like

WHOA FANTASTIC demo, showing the versatility of the Liven Ambient to do Dystopian Punk! Naturally the guy who intellectualised making ambient on the Liven granular, shows us how to use the Liven Ambient as a performance cinematic synth and punk beat machine. Imagine if it allowed sample importing... Well Done!

Oh wow, thank you! I appreciate the nice words! And by the way, you can import samples of up to 8 seconds to the noise layer, via the line in or MIDI SysEx

Thanks a lot for letting me know that! I didn't feel sure anyone would like those either, so that's also nice to here! And yeah, that would be great! Eventually I'd like to learn how to use Blender so I can at least do some sort of 3D animations. Nice work. Please keep em coming. I'm having a lot more fun sound designing than sequencing on the Ambient 0. Not sure why it is but while the sounds I create are quite diverse, the patterns I end up making kinda all sound the same. Early days though.
@SonicCartographyАй бұрын
Thank you! Not sure what kind of music you've been making, so this may or may not be relevant, but I think it's hard (not impossible, but hard) to avoid having soundscapes sound kind of samey after a while. I guess that's why I started gravitating toward creating more structured, melodic songs, since that makes it easier to make them sound different. But I'd like to take another crack at making more traditional soundscapes now that I've started to get my head around this synth.

Wish this was in stock! Guess i will pre-order. I HATE pre-ordering anything. :( This is truly a wonderful little beast though. Exactly what I've always sought after and never could find. SIMPLE, relaxing music interaction. I see videos like this and kick myself in the butt for wasting thousands and thousands and thousands over 30 years always chasing some dream of the most creative setup. Turns out, it's going to end up being little $200 synth units. LOL. Now what to do with all this MPC gear and synths. I guess box them up and maybe they will be worth something after I'm dead.

Beautiful work! Nice to see poetic narrative combined with the sounds. Have you or anyone here ever synced Ambient 0 with a Liven Lofi 12 or anything else with drums. I like Boards Of Canada style music simple beat holds it together.
@SonicCartographyАй бұрын
Thank you! Glad to see someone like/comment on the narrative aspect of it! I haven't tried that much yet, and I don't know about others trying it with the Lofi 12 or making specifically Boards of Canada-style music with this synth, but this person paired it with an OP-1 playing a rhythmic part (but in a more skittering sort of style): kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmLapaGfdsiAarM. And there's also this one with the Teenage Engineering medieval thingy: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2abfXWabs2epaM Definitely something I'd like to explore more going forward!

Finally! Liven Ambient video that we’ve been waiting for! Thank you for this! So inspiring ❤ I really like song 11, is it using glide? Are those sounds samples using factory presets?
@SonicCartographyАй бұрын
Thank you! Glad to hear that! Yes, the melody line on song 11 makes heavy use of glide, in legato mode. All of the noise layer sounds are factory ones except the radio-like noise in song 8, which I made with atmos 2 on the Ambient, recorded onto something else, and then sampled back onto the Ambient.
@Stellar_SoundscapeАй бұрын

11:01 How'd you achieve that Radio-tuning bleepy sound? was it a sample or the Atmos2 structure and all the LFOs?

@@dinogoldie9716 both! I recorded Atmos 2 with a bunch of LFOs/modulation on it, sampled it as a noise layer, and then put some more modulation on that.

so I need a Sonicware Ambient Ø....
@SonicCartographyАй бұрын
Eh, depends on what you want to do and already have! I talked about doing a video on trying to replicate some aspects of the Ambient Ø on other gear, and I still want to do that at some point
@blueberry2aАй бұрын
Very impressive👌 Did you import your own samples into the gear😐👍
@SonicCartographyАй бұрын
Thank you! All of the samples are the factory presets except the one that sounds like a radio on track 8, which is just a sound I generated using Atmos2 on the Ambient and then recorded as a sample for the noise layer. If some of the other noises don't sound familiar, it's because there's a lot of modulation and/or sequencing applied to them on the Ambient!
