I remeber being I was 11 or 12 and I went to the washing machine tour. Kim saw me after the show and invited me into their tour bus. She, Thurston and the rest of the band ordered me pizza and had me hang out with them for about an hour or 2. They were so nice! Kim gave me her email and was so blown away at how young I was and really into their music. I was too shy to email her, but it was one of the greatest nights of my life!!

Mark, Sending all the love and healing to you and all who knew your friend. I know what your experiencing, my friend and old drummer passed in 2015, only now I'm starting to truly face it (not that it'll take you that long :) my mum also passed a few months later so i truly experienced loss of my reality... Music, oh beautiful, powerful moosic! I don't have to really say anything to a fellow sound shaper :) Just remember what you had together and eventually you'll be able to listen to the songs, play them again and have tears of happiness that you even have the memories and their love, over the sadness you most probably are still holding. Only another musician can "get" what it's like to have a friend who you also go traveling in different dimensions together with Every time you hold or sit/stand behind your instrument together ∆¥∆ And if one's never played music with another or doesn't play - they know what just listening to music does - it reconnects you to a higher truth, and to our soul. Our individual and of the collective. Wherever you are in our realm brother, it's a Tuesday am (can't say that word anymore, as it's never a good one!) here in australia. It's winter, i live in my campervan with my guitars and art supplies and a wide open heart - which is sending a big hug, much love and peace of heart for you. Now go pick up your instrument and be inspired. Peace, andria You've a cool girl! Say hi from me :p

Time takes its crazy toll And how does your mirror grow? You better watch yourself when you jump into it 'Cause the mirror's gonna steal your soul I wonder how it came to be my friend That someone just like you has come again You'll never, never know how close you came Until you fall in love with the diamond rain Throw all his trash away Look out, he's here to stay Your mirror's gonna crack when he breaks into it And you'll never, never be the same Look into his eyes and you can see Why all the little kids are dressed in dreams I wonder how he's gonna make it back When he sees that you just know it's make belief Blood crystallized as sand And now I hope you'll understand You reflected into his looking glass soul And now the mirror is your only friend Look into his eyes and you will see That men are not alone on the diamond sea Sail into the heart of the lonely storm And tell her that you'll love her eternally Time takes its crazy toll Mirror fallin' off the wall You better look out for the looking glass girl 'Cause she's gonna take you for a fall Look into his eyes and you shall see Why everything is quiet and nothing's free I wonder how he's gonna make her smile When love is running wild on the diamond sea

Holy father in heaven, PALEEESE bring Sonic Youth back to us!!? This band is -timeless! They all have their own things going, which I respect. However, this band and the ethereal paradigm shifting music they channeled in to my soul has never and will never been bested! When a group of artist can change your state of consciousness, without the need of narcotics, it is something incredibly special and important. There has never been another bands like Sonic Youth and I honestly don’t think there ever will be again! Thank you Kim, Thurston, Steve and Lee!! Thank you for the mind blowing memories and for opening my mind and soul to your other worldly and incredibly beautiful music and art! ❤

So glad you stumbled across this amazing track. ...I remember being 14 and hearing it for the first time. It has been a favorite since. ...it wasn't played on the main radio station in Houston, but they had a weekly show Sunday nights at 10 where they played "indie" stuff, hipster music. I would record the songs i liked onto my Tape Recorder, and would let my friends listen to it. It was a school night so mostly everybody I knew were in bed. Thank God I wasn't. ..I just turned 40 a few wks ago. You kids rock on. Music makes it a beautiful life❤️🤘

Yes I realise the irony of writing this online but I think there has been a massive disruption to humanity and it still has a long way to play out.
