I find it kind of incredible that these 2 manage to have such exciting matches almost every time they fight. It feels like Sonix should just dominate all their matches but Riddles always manages to put up a stubborn fight and even take the win on occasion.

Terry does decent against sonic. Huge meaty hitboxes with good burst, a projectile that restricts grounded approaches, a killing out of shield option and GO mechanic make Sonic real cautious about trying to steamroll Terry.

Could it be that the matchup is actually decent for Terry? I know Sonic typically beats FGCs but it's always close between these two and Terry just seems to deny so much space. Add on the fact that he kills so early and it seems relatively even.

Its still a bad mu for Terry, its just that the other fgc's have it worse that I honestly didn't expect Riddles to win one of his sets against Sonix this year

Terry is guaranteed to get GO in this MU. He is the only FGC who has burst options. You still get the problem where you have to predict where Sonic will go but at least when you get it right you cover a lot of space and sonic dies. Sonic doesn't have any cheese or ways to get early kills unless it is a hard read. Otherwise Sonic game plan is to rack up damage until you catch them with spindash at ledge or high enough to die from raw bair. In the meantime Terry just looks for trades or any small milage until he is able to steal a stock incredibly early thanks to high rage and GO meter. TLDR; Terry will get GO every stock since Sonic has to rack up damage until opponents are very high percents to kill.

Aegis goes even or slightly sonic favored and Mythra can actually catch up to sonic. The numbers may lead you to believe that this mu is close but realistically it’s based on Sonix’s mistakes, Riddles playing neutral super well and a whole lot of lucky or hard reads. And basing any match up that requires that many reads and call outs isnt really “even”

If I'm not mistaken, Sonix was mistakenly told by an official that he was in Top 24 and he was already of out the venue, but in reality he needed to play Riddles and the TOs were trying to get Sonix back ASAP due to the error and excused him of any DQ.

@@vicstonek9 Sonix vs Riddles already was an top 24 match - the point of confusion is that top 24 officially starts at sunday but some top 24 matches for winners / losers side already started saturday. The official wasnt wrong in saying that Sonix made top 24 and sonix assumed that he woulndnt have to play because the schedule officially says top 24 - sunday

Rising Tackle is similar to Cloud's Climhazzard, where neither move is designed to immediately snap the ledge, compared to most recoveries & ledge grab options.

@SussyBaka_irl I meant in general. I understand why he's not going low. I'm asking why he can't just grab ledge. There were plenty of times he airdodges on the stage when he could have airdodged off the stage to grab ledge. Him always going on the stage did make sonix start expecting that so I imagine Riddles could have even double jumped to it normally. I feel like his crack shoot from ledge is a difficult thing when you also have to worry about the 4 normal ledge options
