My grandpa would use his old Farmall M to make square bales from roadside ditches. He sold those square bales for $2/ bale. He sold it cheap cause it had trash and he just loved to bale hay. Told his buyers it wasn’t meant for feeding. He made 200 bales last summer before he passed away at the age of 93.

I originally found your channel because you feature big John Deere machines that my 2 yo old grandson loves watching. Well it was easy for me to get hooked too. I appreciate your sense of humor (“easy access window” and “Rock Block not to be confused with”…) I have learned a ton about how you and your dad make your living as farmers. I have a whole new appreciation for what you do and what your provide. Keep the videos coming I still have a lot to learn even though I am probably your dad’s age. Never stop learning. ❤

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Sorry you glass has not come in yet for the tractor. Hopefully you will get it soon. The rock guard on the mower looks good. Hopefully will stop the flying rocks. Thanks for the song of the day Brian. Good singer and good song. Great music. Thanks. Hope you get the two inches of rain your area is suppose to get. Prayers coming your way from me. The junk cleanup you did Cole makes the place look better. Nice to get rid of stuff like that. Good going Cole. Did not see a raccoon when you pointed the camera above the old garage. Good way to pickup bales from the ditches by following dad as he gets them. Can put right on the bale trailer then. Good going Brian and Cole. Hope you can get more hay out of the ditches to prevent having to buy some more. You are getting a fair number out of ditch mowing. Good show. Thanks for everything Sonne’s. Take care and be safe. Thanks. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.

Different time but my Grandpa would lead the cattle in the ditches and let the cows graze. He was considered by GrAndma to be a lazy farmer for sitting and watching his cattle graze. But it was a very meditative time for him as he had his Bible with him. He was blessed all day. His ditches were beautiful and cows fed cheaply. He died of a heart attack only few years later. If he would worked as hard as he did running a big steam breaking & harvest team for 30 years. We loved him as did the entire community and amazingly he’s still remembered for be a wonderful friend!

After the 2nd rear glass in my JD 6400, I built a deflector screen. One bolt in the center link hole & no more. Maybe $30 in materials. Disk mowers & ditches can be risky. Throw a lot of junk! Cutting hay myself. My dilemma, got up the morning to a flat on the rear of my mower/loader tractor. Take it easy!
