Thrift Haul - HUGE Goodwill Bins Haul - Let the flipping begin! - Wandering Wednesdays

In today's video I hit up my local Goodwill Bins and found some amazing finds. I was on a thrifting mission and needed to find some goodies that I could flip and bring to Cranberryfest. On the chair missing the spindle....just move the 2nd one to the 4th place and you'll have 2 and 2, with the space in the middle. Fill the hole of course and you've got it evenly spaced. 💜 The red striped jute ribbon in called webbing and it is for upholstery. But it is a great all around crafting item! Glue the baskets broken handle with tire bond wood glue then wrap it with jute cord. It'll be repaired and look great! Try steaming the hand painted gourd/pumpkin to soften it then pull the stem gently into place using tote bond wood glue to repair the crack. (You can hold it over a pot of boiling water, a kettle or a damp hot towel wrapped around the cracked area.)

Sonnet when you find something heavy at the bins when you get to the register ask them to price it separate. They've done that for me several times. So anything heavy ask them to price separately. 😉 Fantastic haul today, personally I wouldn't do anything to the plates. Be well.

Aww my Great-Grandpa smoked a pipe too. When I get the opportunity to smell pipe Tobacco it brings back all the memories and feels. I love that smell too!!! 🤗🤗🤗

I could see those large metal flower looking things hanging from chains dropped from the ceiling in a kitchen and then you hang pots from them oh my goodness how beautiful , I'd leave the plates as they are but they're yours do what you choose

On the basket that broke. This has happened to me as well. I've used wood glue in the past and wrapped a piece of leather and clamped. Let it set 24 hours. Turned out really cute! Love the haul!!

The ribbon is what is used for upholstery. I have some from my upholstery days. I would not stamp those plates. I think for the basket you could use glue and twine or ribbon. I would sew the handle together and then wrap it. I think it is adorable. The magazine rack looks like a log holder for fire or newspaper. Magazines might fall out the sides.

IOD Trimmings II mould has that twisted rope design you could put on a new spindle and try that instead of taking out a spindle...VERY impressive haul

fantastic haul sonnet! the green basket without the lid. I would either add feet to it and have blankets or towels in it or put logs in it by fireplace or add a Christmas tree inside and wrap a blanket around the inside.

The basket with the broken handle could be glued back together and then wrap something like jute or leather whatever floats your boat around the handle, and you wouldn't necessarily have to wrap the entire handle just several inches in the middle. I was thinking about 5-6 inches depending on the length of the handle, it looked like it was at least 8 in. long.....but anyway you get the idea!!!!! I absolutely love watching your videos!!!!! You have a great eye and I love that you appreciate different things and the age of things that you find....I am always excited to see what you come across! Gotta love thrifting❣💜

You an superglue that basket handle. After it's cured, wrap the handle in some of that pretty nubby yarn you have. You can just wrap a small area to over the repair. It will strengthen the repair and cammofpage it and add some texture and interest. You can suspend some beads, tassle or charm from the yarn wrapped repaired area too.

Keep the eagle rack as is and the basket that has rope looks old. I like it as is also! I like the leaf with a bird. It will be beautiful for fall.

I would sell them as a set. I have some figurines that were made in occupied Japan and I saw them listed online for a lot of money. I would sell them as they are. They are gorgeous. I kept mine.

Superglue the handle on the basket, put a popcicle stick under that part and wrap jute around the handle. I wouldn’t stamp the occupied plates I don’t think you come across those very often and they are so pretty and a set. You found some great pieces as usual!

That basket is from the Peterboro Basket Company. They’re located in Peterborough, NH - about 30 minutes from me. They’re actually closing this year after something like 160 years.

On the broken handle of the divided basket, what if...you glue a supporting piece lengthwise, then wrapped/camouflaged the repair with burlap or twine as a wrap? Lots of goodies for cranberry fest.

The china plates are perfect as is...I wouldn't alter them in any way! Could you glue the handle of the basket, reinforce it with tongue depressors on the top and bottom of the handle, then wrap it with a piece of faux leather or leather lacing? The last item you showed with the two handles looks like the handles go on the top and you hold the two together to carry it. It also looks like it may have had a wooden piece that would slide down side to close it. My favorite is the book from 1844! If I were you, I'd keep that one for myself!

Glue the 2 pieces of the basket handle together with clear gorilla glue, then wrap over it with a yarn or thick twine.

To try and fix your basket with the broken handle try and glue a strip of brown craft paper around the break. Then glue strips of the craft along the full length of the handle to both the top and bottom of the handle. After that wrap the entire handle with jute string. I think it will look great!

For you basket with the broken handle. My husband would use popsicle sticks glued on for fixing something like that. If you paint the handle with the popsickle sticks on there in a pattern!???? Just an idea

Sell the 4 plates as a set! That chair looks super old!! Can tell by the quality. Burlap stuff is def for chairs. For could be used For a place too.

use the Starbound glue it glues anything together I think if you use the Starbound glue and the Excel that goes with it and then wrap some juice around it just and put a bow maybe that will just kind of camouflage it and you can keep the handle

I am so envious of all the wonderful things that you found. Could you incorporate the "ribbon" onto the green basket? I couldn't tell if the colors would go together. The ribbon is the one you thought might have been used when repairing old chairs. And as far as the basket with the broken handle, could you wrap twine or something on the handle which would then connect the two sides together? I think the large basket with the eagle might have had logs for the fireplace in it.

My initial reaction to stamping your plates was "no!!!" But on second thought, maybe. They don't have alot of resale value though, as is. I think I'd try to sell them as a set first as I hate altering items with history. OMG, love that big old book! And the tiny 1844 book, wow!
