I know. I hated the writers during Brenda's return. They totally ruined it the only good thing they did was put Brenda and Jason together. They were trying so hard to downplay Sonny and Brenda for Carly that they had Sonny go totally against his character. We all know Brenda never ruined Sonny's life especially when he was the one that left.

What the hell did sonny just say? The real sonny would never say that brenda ruined his life... he knows how much he hurt her and how she would give everything up for him. What a son of a b***!! Brenda is the love of his life, he would never treat her like this. this is a bunch of bull. I didn't watch this during this time period and am truly shocked watching these old clips of her first return and can't believe my ears... I watched it faithfully 93-98 and this is a travesty...

I was watching back then and unfortunately, what happened is that because Vanessa only committed to a six month return, they didn’t really go all in with any of the potential storylines. The writers and producers at that time had a lot invested with sonny and Carly as stupid as that is in my opinion. So they weren’t backing down.
