Hard to believe Atco Records chose this for the A-side of their record. Sonny took the 45 to one of the top L.A. radio stations and had them play the B-side, "I Got You Babe." The phone lines lit up and that became the hit instead, according to Sonny's autobiography.

This song's funky and groovy as all get up. Sonny Bono never gets the respect he deserves as a writer. He wrote and produced a lot of great tunes. Outta sight!

Yes, indeed - before the cosmetic alterations, when they were in their beatnik/ hippie phase - she was so striking and beautiful, quite unique. When I was 14 years old I wanted nothing more than to BE her! Not so much (in fact, not at all) after they glammed up and became mainstream TV stars. Loved Sonny too and all those great songs he wrote for them to sing. I still have my old vinyl copy of their first album Look At Us - and I still love every song on it.

Call this Cher's movie debut. Twenty-three years later, she won the Oscar for Best Actress in Moonstruck.

Just watched this movie this morning only to see them. First time I saw it was about six years ago. This made me take a look at your other S&C vintage videos. Awesome!! Thank you!!

I had the misfortune of having to sit through this lousy movie ("Wild on the Beach") in a theater before the start of " A Hard Day's Night", which I really was there to see. This song was the only thing I didn't hate in the entire film.

I don't get it??!!?? Almost everyone who left a comment on any of the music videos from this film and anyone who has seen the film says that it STINKS. Its cheesy and lousy. But I grew up to this soundtrack. I love it. I have never seen the movie, only the video clips on you tube. I would love to see the movie but I can't find it anywhere. The movie trailer doesn't look like it's a bad film. Of course the soundtrack for the film should be in the hall of fame for the artist on it an the quality of the songs included in the film. Rhapsody (now Napster) has part of the soundtrack on it. Frankie and the Astronauts music but none of the others. In STEREO too. I have a Stereo copy in mint condition of the original soundtrack release. Got it at a garage sale. This clip of Sonny and Cher has different version of the song. The stereo version has double track vocals from Sonny and Cher and Sonny sings a line and then sings it again like an echo with the lyrics overlapping. Also most of the backup vocals are gone. That's why Sonny keep tilting his head down because he doesn't know where the lyric starts. There is a video of Sonny singing this song on Shindig (I think) that has the Stereo mix on it.

If you want the single version of this, which is way better, go to Amazon and get it from Where The Action Is: Los Angeles Nuggets 1965 to 1968. This is the lp version, which was overdubbed for the 45.
