As far as I'm concerned, there are at least two wonderful things to say about Mary Tyler Moore: She turned the world on with her smile, and she made it after all.

After this show was a hit ,Mary was a guest on a late night talk show ...Carson's show but Steve Martin was hosting that night. As soon as Mary was introduced, and sits down,Steve says to her that there was something that he had been curious about for quite awhile. She asked what that was. Steve Martin says " Can you REALLY take a nothing day and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?"

I wish to dedicate this song to my dear friend, Jane, I hope she can find some inspiration from this song. Jane's life is very much like the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Jane is very much like Mary Tyler Moore--compassionate, funny, unpredictable, and everyone likes her--especially the men. Sonny Curtis has done a masterpiece on this song. 5Stars to this rendition.

Loved singing along with the theme song when the show was on the air. I'd only learned of this country version in 2015. I included it in a playlist of Arizona themed songs I played when I moved from a small college town in Oregon to Phoenix, Arizona. Even though the song wasn't specifically Phoenix related, I still liked the positive message because it mirrored the experience of Mary Richards when she moved from her small town to Minneapolis. Nowadays, when I'm feeling blue and need to get "pumped up" and have more self-confidence, I play this song and realize that yes, "you're gonna make it after all..." RIP Mary Tyler Moore.

Who can turn the world on with her smile? Who can take a nothing day And suddenly make it all seem worthwhile? Well it's you, girl, and you should know it With each glance and every little movement you show it Love is all around no need to fake it You can have the town, why don't you take it You're gonna make it after all Love is all around no need to fake it You can have the town, why don't you take it You're gonna make it after all How will you make it on your own? This world is awfully big, and girl, this time you're all alone But it's time you started living It's time you let someone else do some giving Love is all around no need to fake it You can have the town, why don't you take it You're gonna make it after all You're the one most likely to succeed Just be sure to keep your head, 'cause girl, you know that's all you need Everyone around adores you Don't give up, the world is waiting for you Love is all around no need to waste it You can have the town, why don't you take it You're gonna make it after all Love is all around no need to waste it You can have the town, why don't you take it You're gonna make it after all Love is all around no need to waste it You can have the town, why don't you take it You're gonna make it after all You're gonna make it after all

The 1970 Pop version is more in keeping with the song as used on the show, but it uses the less-optimistic, "You might just make it" line (save at the end) and was a chart failure. . The 1980 Country version is obviously different, but uses the more optimistic, "You're gonna make it after all" and reached 29 on the charts. . A Pop rendition with the Country version's lyrics or a combination of some sort would be interesting to hear. But until that happens, take your pick.
