Great video KPeyanski, congratulations!!! Quick question, is it possible to use independently the motion detection as a trigger for automations? (if sonoff cam detects movement, then send a message, etc.). Thank you
@KPeyanski3 жыл бұрын
As far as I remember the motion detection sensor in Sonoff Camera was not working back then when I'm adding the camera over RTSP protocol. I'm not sure if this is changed now. For what I saw recently there is a unofficial Sonoff firmware which enable ONFIV and MQTT on the camera maybe I should test it and create a new video :)

@KPeyanski4 жыл бұрын
Only Image capture at specific time for example can be done easily even without NVR, But to make it right with motion detection and notifications you will need a NVR like Blue Iris, iSpy or MotionEye. I’m planning to install one myself and maybe I will make a video about it.
@thomasmarquardt81183 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for this video (and the others!). I managed to get this working in Node Red. However, my assumption was that I would also be easy to take recurring snapshots via Node Red (e.g. to produce time lapse or similar over time) and store them after I have this set up. However, I cannot get this to work - would you be able to advise? I guess its not so difficult - maybe I am missing something obvious.
@KPeyanski3 жыл бұрын
I can only think of a workaround with Node-RED and Home Assistant at the moment. First integrate Node-RED with Home Assistant. After that invoke the camera.snapshot Home Assistant service from Node-RED on regular intervals to make the time lapse.
@thomasmarquardt81183 жыл бұрын
@@KPeyanski Thank you for getting back! I managed to make it work with a normal automation in HA and the camera.snapshot.

So, I spent a bit of time playing around, and it actually works! :) Let bot1 be the name of a notifier as per www.home-assistant.io/integrations/telegram/ In my automations.yaml under a particular alias and after a given trigger and condition I now have this: action: - service: camera.snapshot data: entity_id: camera.camera1 filename: '/config/tmp/snapshot.jpg' # I thought some delay would be needed, but apparently not. #- delay: 00:00:03 - service: notify.bot1 data: title: '🚪' message: "Porta terrassa oberta" data: photo: - file: "/config/tmp/snapshot.jpg" ...and in configuration.yaml, under homeassistant: whitelist_external_dirs: - /config/tmp ...which sends a nice snapshot from the Sonoff camera to the telegram bot I use for my home notifications. Enjoy!
