Again Alan makes a remix that is far better than the original version. Alan is pure legend! It's so sad that he decided to quit the music industry. Nothing can replace his fantastic gift of making music that is so genious, surprising and remarkable.

YES!! I miss the dark soul of Depeche Mode! :( I still love them, always have and always will, but Alan Wilder was such an important part of their sound! I miss the big, sweeping arrangements of sound that haven't really been there since he left! I wish they could come to terms with whatever caused him to leave, so he could go back and reunite with the voice and lyrics of Dave and Martin!

It gives me goosebumps how good Alan's drumming is.

He has a great sense of rhythm, but these are samples. He even was interviewed by the company who made those samples, can't remember the name now.

@@alejandromorales8715 Thank you, I did not know that. Agreed, he has a great sense of rhythm and a feel for what a song needs. I'm not a musician and wouldn't be able to explain it in proper terms, but I like how his drums are well measured and not over the top, but the timing is just right and creates that groovy rhythm that engages you. Goes to show you don't need to be able to do 1000 hits per minute to be a good drummer.

A beautiful song and Expression! ~ when Alan left DM, Depeche Mode no longer had a Soul. Does anyone else feel that way? I still Love DM...but it lacks a Soul.

I love how he just leaves the start of the song completely unchanged, but then adds bits and bits, more and more layers, cool drum beat, effects then the famouse Wilder string sound arrangement... and there they are: The goosebumbs! Yeah! Everybody else also loved especially his last NITZER EBB-remix? THAT is what DM is missing since 1995: goosebumbs due to perfect harmonies and production!!

I find it difficult to believe that directors are somehow overlooking Alan's talents!
@CGWS20113 жыл бұрын
His talent was even overlooked by the band members of Depeche Mode, which is what made him leave in the end. They simply didn't pay enough attention. At least we know what kind of genius he is and that's fine. It's just bad he stopped releasing albums after subHuman. It's been 14 years and it doesn't feel like he's coming back with a new album. On the other hand, I can understand it when you keep in mind the complexity of his works. It's not something you just happen to do. This is hard work, even for a genius of his kind.
@DxModel2192 жыл бұрын
@@CGWS2011 The directors are not overlooking his talents. In fact it's the opposite! They revere this man. It's that he is in a different place now with different priorities. He's probably been turning down many requests from producers. Following him he seems more into his family and new daughter and UK politics. We hope one day he will show us his work again. His latest work was producing and collaborating with DeDe in 2015. It's a wonderful piece.
@CGWS20112 жыл бұрын
@@DxModel219 actually, you're addressing this to the wrong person. 😉 I was stating that his talents were even overlooked by his former band members. I didn't mean to judge about the directors here. There's no need for me getting him involved with any kind of producers. I'd rather wish he would get back in the studio himself and create something on his own. But considering his age it's very likely it won't happen. For whatever reason that is.

I would say that Martin is the heart and soul of depeche and Alan was a part of that soul and heart since he loved Martins Songs and he wanted the best sounds for them. But he is mainly gifted in sound design and engineering and he had lots of Musical skill to add to DM. But he will say it himself that Martin is a much better song writer composer that himself. The songs are where the soul is at and Alan felt and was one with that soul.

The acoustic drums layered on top the TR808 Kick is very nicely mixed in...not too loud..as Alan said in the past : "One doesn't need to mix drums too loudly ",, blends nicely... you could pick up the mixed better through a pair of monitor headphones... I have the FLAC audio file for this plus the whole album... free download via SONOIO website i recall...

The thing is is that Martin has made so many top notch albums that its hard to beat those albums in any form. But And thats a big Butt,.lol Ultra was done without Alan at all, and many say its the just as good if not there best album and with as much soul as SOFAD or Violator. There just different albums,.I would say from Black Celibration to Ultra they where on a consistent peak with the most ambition pushing them to the Limits of Sound design. But there are still Great songs being produced!!!
@gavilan26927 жыл бұрын
Although, I do like Ultra, it was a step down from SOFAD. Also, there were many songs before Black celebration that are great, however, Black celebration, MFTM, Violator and SOFAD are their best work. I consider myself a Devotee, however, I must say that their last 3 albums are very bad. Martin is the most underrated writer of his generation and Dave is a brilliant singer, however, they lack Mr. Wilder’s touch. He is that secret ingredient that made them great. I fear the egos (from all parts) are getting in a way of what I truly believe they all want, a reunion. Continue where they left of, more mature, more experienced. I think they owe it to themselves to bury the past and move forward, I wish it were “construction time again”, again.
@jakubpetricek5 жыл бұрын
Ultra was a very good album. It´s a pity that Only When I Lose and Surrender didn´t make the album. But it was not better than Black Celebration or Songs of Faith and Devotion

@@gavilan2692 my opinion is that Gahan`s voice is gone for quite a while now. Live performance is horrible. Read the lyrics from the past 4 albums and you may come to a conclusion that the quality went down. Gore can sing better than Gahan these days. New albums want to be quirky so badly but they are rather a mess of loud computer effects. The art of sound is missing but who cares if the band makes millions. My instincts and a calculated guess are telling me that Fletcher is behind Wilder`s leave. Clapping hands grab all they can, everything counts in clapping hands...
