throw-off looks like the one from the AQ2 line and can give some problems, but that's the only thing

@@banditY2K on my AQ2 drum (14x6) the lever came very loose from the factory, and when wires are disengaged it tends to rattle around a bit, but then on my AQ1 drum (also 14x6, same throw-off, again) it came so stiff that sometimes I had to use 2 hands to engage the wires, and I don't use a crazy amount of wire tension, i keep it just a hair more than medium tension (When the adjustment knob sits at about half the threads available, straps set accordingly to that) on both the AQ2 and the AQ1 drums the tension adjustment knobs cannot be operated without disengaging the wires, as they're both too stiff, so setting the tension right always takes a little guessing game and some time P.S. I disassembled the mechanism a couple of times to clean off sawdust from sticks and to lube, and I found out the lever is attached to the part that actually slides up and down by some press-fit pins. This means that if it comes tight or extremely loose from the factory, you have no way of changing that while keeping the whole thing intact (maybe one day I'll ask a blacksmith to reconstruct it with better tolerances... OR I'll just swap the whole strainer with some INDe stuff or something) to be noted that this is just my personal experience, and it might just be that luck was not by my side and I got two defective units in a row

@@gabrielemartino2466 I had a Sonor 3007 snare with what appears to be the same throw off as the AQ2 except more plastic & it was the worst snare throw off I'd ever used. Wobbly cheap feeling thing. I understood the kit was mid-range price point, but I assumed the all metal version of it would be better. I guess maybe not.

@@C-StanzI recently got my hands on the 14x5.75 aluminum at my local shop, and I have to say the tolerances on the throw-off surprised me. All those problems I pointed out on the AQ series were not present. The sound is kinda mid though... Rings in a very metallic way, to the point that it starts to bother. And, it only shows some real "body" along with that ring when the snares are off... Sounds shallow / almost box-like with snares on, even with proper tuning (tried with a lower, medium and high tuning, messed around with bottom head tension a lot to see if that was the issue, and it's not). I reeeally hope it's just a stock wires problem, because otherwise I'd have to deem the whole line a big letdown. THEY SHOULD'VE GONE SEAMLESS, DAMMIT!
