there is something about this video that makes it so captivating... i think its the drummers making the drums sound so musical that totally boost the drum's capability.

In my opinion Sonor's Select Force along with the Prolite are the best sounding, most musical drums I've heard. They have superb resonance, sustain and the strongest tone. I got a 12 rack Select Force tom added to my 1998 Premier Cabria, I use it as the 1st and highest tuned tom of the 4 in my set, tuned in Bb of the higher octave with an evans clear G2 on the batter side and man it sounds so awesome combined with the Premier toms wich are dark sounding due to its hybrid shell of blue gum eucalyptus and dark red meranti (phillipine mahogany). Also the 45 degree bearing edges are flawless and the T.A.R mounting system looks beautiful and really does enhance the resonance and sustain of the drums. Sonor drums kick ass!! 👊

After playing and endorsing a certain drum company for over 20 years who sadly really don’t even focus on their kits anymore I decided it was time for a good look around and a change. I hope to have my first Sonor kit arriving here at the studio next week. I didn’t go for the Pro Lite or SQ2 but the Essential Force as I really liked the short stack toms and as of yet not being an endorsee the price was awesome. I will be recording the full drum tracks for the first A.G.D record out of C.A as well as shooting video for Samplitude Pro X 3 Magix official which I do endorse and will be on their site soon. Great times ahead and great video for Pro Lite

To me, these are some of the best sounding shells around today and leave most other top brands for dust. It's all subjective of course but the pure engineering, whether hand built or not, can be heard in the tone of the shells. At the end of the day, it's what we do with them that counts but even if the sound is not for you, one can at least respect the sheer depth of quality, history and knowledge of Sonor.

Last year I bought a Force 3007 Smooth Brown Burst kit, many extras 24 bass, 8, 10, 12, 14 rack toms; 14, 16, 18 floor toms, 14 snare and 10x2 jungle snare... love them... I just wish it was easier to get in touch with Sonor regarding customer support, my 14 snare was out of round right out of the box, I was able to get a rim and head on it but it would be nice to have it right... sales guy heavily encouraged me to deal with it because Sonor is so hard to deal with in the USA... that's a shame.

You're right. You could definitely buy all of that for the price of one SQ2 kit and even I think it's silly that they charge so much. Same goes for Yamaha's PHX, DW's Collector's Series, Pearl's Masterworks... But for that price you're getting one hell of a drum set from a manufacturer that's been in the business for 138 years. Besides, if your paying that much then I believe you know what you're getting into. I hardly believe it's out of touch. Out of its mind maybe...but it's worked so far ;)

All about this video is inspiring..the drums, the drumming, the video edition, the place where they play....i'm from Argentina (so i'm not biased with following opinion) i have great and special respect for German and Japanese industries. Whatever it says...made in Germany or in Japan, i have the feel that those things couldn't be better...nor the design, nor the construction, nor the materials they use. The Meinl cymbals are a better match with the kit imo.the Benny Greb combo, can't go wrong.

Ever had that feeling of switching over to a drum company but felt like you're cheating on the current one because of serious consideration ? Well, that's what i'm thinking with Sonor drums... Can I ask a question Sonor? I bought a Sonor Force kit new in about 2005 . It was in black sparkle and it was 24”, 18”, 16”, 13”, 12”, and an aluminum 14” snare. What Im trying to figure out is if it was a Force 2003 or a 3003. Did you make the 2003 sets in black sparkle or just the 3003? Any other tips on how I may be able to figure this out? Thanks.

Could it have been the 3005 ? Im not positive the kit I had was a 3003. Did the the 3003 have the round badges back in 2006 ish? I just know mine had round badges. Just trying to see what else it could have been. It was all maple as well, I know that.
@SonorDrumTube4 жыл бұрын
@@underpressureman if you got the kit around 2006 it's much likely a 3005 (which was introduced as the succesor of 3003 in the year 2005). They all had round badges. The "30" in all Force 300X stands for Maple, the last two digits for the year (3003 - 2003, 3005 - 2005 and so on).

One thing you will learn as music becomes a bigger part of your life is that price doesn't matter. Sometimes, we have to go the extra mile to get what we want. I'm one of those lucky few whose dream drum set doesn't cost much, but if my ideal setup was $10,000, I'd find some way to make that money. This is a kit designed for professional drummers, not hobbyists.

I have a prolite kit and love it. Very musical drums, with a very wide tuning range. That great warm tom sound and the kick is thunderous for a 20 inch kick especially. It's my fav kit I've ever tried. I came from a Yamaha maple absolute noveau which is now going to be my gig kit when I play a show. Prolite stays safe at home. Lol

Every time I've heard the vintage online it's akways tuned very high. So I'm thinking it may be geared toward more jazz/fusion music. Where the prolites I know can get anything you go for outta them. If you see any videos on the vintage in a lower rock tuning let me know.
