Nice playing! I got the same drums, and they sound much richer, more powerful and deeper in a stage environment instead of an overdampened studio booth. They are good if you need live powerful drums from the scratch, with just little amplification. For studio and heavy amplified stage, i like my lighter D&W and Premier more since i havent got any roady ;-)

hi Aaron, thank you very much for your comments. Maybe you are right. it's a little bit "pingy" in the video. however this cymbal it's brighter than others. I think it's because they are handmade and there are no two equal cymbals. the position of the recorder may influence it too. thanks again!

I was curious if you put the shell sizes in description and you did. Thank you. I was curious about the left side tom. I’m in a designers kit 8x8 10x8 in light maple and 12x12 14x14 18x18 22 in heavy maple. I kind of wanted to experiment with something on the left other than finding another other floor Tom. I think I’ll try your layout
@rolandwdrum4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jp Jp for your words! I find the left side 12” tom very useful because I need some deep tom sounds as I use my 8” and 10” toms as main ones. On the other hand, it gives me extra versatility for playing different patterns. I hope this notes help you! JK

Hi Robert, thanks for your interest but, sorry, at the moment, I am not interested in selling them. They are quite difficult to find in the market but in EBay, where I found them, sometimes this sizes are on sale. They are the heavy version of signature's made of beech. Thanks again and kind regards.

Is it because of recording device or they really have a very short sustain?
@rolandwdrum9 жыл бұрын
Hi Dangerous, may be It's a mix of both. This drums tend to sound short in sustain character. The tom arms system affect directly to it. When you hold the tom with one hand, the sustain is clearly longer. They have a lot of atack and, comparing with a DW drum kit, they have less sustain. Of course, the tom tunning and heads affects aswell to the sound. Thanks for your comments
@fibboobbif8 жыл бұрын
+Roland Dwdrum: I would say it is the drum room that takes the Sustain. I have a similar "problem" in my drum booth... but i wanted to get an old fashioned dry sound that i can enrich with tube Room mikes and Lexicon 480. it works... but it depends on the size of the drum booth... the bigger it is, the more you can let it sustain. In a small room there is no chance to get a good wet sound just by the walls.
@javierkg80328 жыл бұрын
+DangerousDrummerDado I would say it´s becouse the overdampened room. The other drums I own, a DW Collectors, have more sustain. The Signature it´s a powerfull drum with tons of punch and attack. Thanks Dangerous!

Great kit but snare sounds less good then the rest... maybe its me or the tuning, recording... it is somehow bent at the end, overtone or something. It is not part of the kit or am I wrong..?
@rolandwdrum5 ай бұрын
Hi @haznamanbih6063, thanks for your words. As always, sound preferences are very subjetive for everyone. The snare was a birch made Premier Piccolo, 12" x 7". I really loved the sound of such a small snare! The recording was quite basic, just an ambient recording from a Zoom HQ3 recorder. And yes, the snare wasn´t part of the kit. The snare that was part of the kit was a 14" x 6,5" one and it was a real beauty. I sold it a year ago. Thanks!
