Hey there, just wondering are there any budget-friendly ceiling speakers that can connect to Amazon Alexa or google home and also have different audio for different rooms; cause as much as I would love to buy these Sonos speakers they're just way too expensive for me. Love the vids btw they're very informative :)

How do you connect 6 speakers to one amp? I only see 4 connections on the back of the amp.
@tylerfrederickk3 ай бұрын
You put the wires in the same hole. Meaning, all 3 left speakers can share the same hole in the back of the amp. And the 3 right speakers can share the same hole. Make sense?

QUESTION! Hi thanks for the Sonos reviews, already watched the one on Arc. I'm starting fresh in a new home and while the ceiling holes are not cut for in-ceiling speakers, it's prewired to do so. I was originally going to go with the Arc, sub, 2 in-ceiling fronts and 2 in-ceiling rear surrounds with amps but I'm learning that may be overkill with the fronts and or not even be able to run that setup? You also mentioned something about potential issues with in-ceiling rears working well with the Arc? Do you recommend to simply run the Arc + Sub + Rear in-ceiling rears? I'll be getting a new tv too with eARC fyi. If the ceiling is pre-wired, would you recommend 5 in-ceiling speakers over the Arc + 2 in-ceiling?

I have a Sonos arc and sub and amp (amp not connected to anything ATM) But I want to get a pair of those ceiling speakers for surround sound speakers Can these be used with the amp+arc+sub to get surround sound? Or 5.1 surround sound set up if you call it that

I thought the Sonos ceiling speakers would incorporate the amp so you could just plug and play. Why would you buy these over other cheaper ceiling speakers especially from sonance which already make great ceiling speakers ?

Hi. im currently doing some renovation to my home and wanted to run speaker cables on the ceiling. Im looking to buy Sonos in-ceiling speakers to match up to my existing sonos playbar. Can you tell me if this uses just normal speaker cables or does it use some special speaker cables? Just so I can run the cables in my ceiling. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks in advanced.
@smarthomesounds3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nilesh, yes the Sonos equipment would just need standard speaker cable. We tend to recommend 16 gauge 2 core speaker cable which is the only option we have on our website as it's fine for cable runs up to 35 metres in length. Hope that helps!

Hey mate, would love to know from yourself or anyone who is confident if you can somehow use the ceiling speakers for surround sound along with the Sonos arc and gen 3 sub as the arc and sub are wireless products and the ceiling speakers require amp, so not sure how that all connects and would work as one 5.1 unit, thanks in advance
@smarthomesounds4 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven, yes you can use ceiling speakers as your surround sound speakers to an Arc & Sub. You will need to connect the ceiling speakers to a Sonos AMP and then add them as surrounds via the Sonos App. As the Arc has upward firing drivers we recommend the ceiling speakers be placed further away from your seating position as not to get a muddled soundstage.

Im building a house now and want to confirm @ 5:33 you state you can only play one thing over all speakers if I only have one amp. My goal is to use Alexa to play music on patio, master bedroom, and run a movie at the same time. For this, I'll need 3 separate Sonos amps?
@smarthomesounds5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin, yes that's correct. All speakers connected to the same Amp will play the same music at the same volume. If you're looking to play different audio in different rooms whether that's via Alexa or the Sonos App, you would need 3 different Amps, set up as 3 different zones. Hope this helps!

if you have 3 pairs of speakers connected to the amp, can you switch off one of the pairs? example you have 2 pairs indoors and a single outdoor, can you shut the outdoors ones off and just play the indoor ones?
@smarthomesounds5 жыл бұрын
Hi there. This can be achieved by installing a 3-way speaker switch. This will cut the power to your chosen pairs at any one time. We recommend the brand QED as a place to start with that.

Would these pair with existing sonos systems? I have a Arc, Woofer and 2 Sonos Ones
@smarthomesounds3 жыл бұрын
Hi Deepak, if you have the Arc, Sub and 2 x Sonos Ones set up as a single zone, you have maxed out what you can do with this set up besides adding a second Sub. The Sonos in-ceiling speakers would only be able to be grouped with the zone however, they wouldn't be any sort of surround sound. Hopefully Sonos integrate support for 7.1 in the future. Thanks for watching.

Recently, I "discovered" in my garage a brand-new unused Sonos Play: 3 and a "bridge" that were both purchased 5 years ago or more and were never unboxed. I'm considering a Sonos Beam and sub-woofer after watching your reviews. Is this older Sonos Play:3 able to be used with the new system ? Also, does the "bridge" serve a useful purpose?

Great video, do these have depth in the sound? Or are they quite tinny. Also does the sound travel through the ceiling spilling sound across the house. Thanks in advance.. ps.. would the Sonos Sub compliment these for music or not required
@smarthomesounds5 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, these definitely pack a punch and while they're never going to compare to something standalone, these are ideal if aesthetics are just as important as sound quality. If you add a Sub, then I think these would definitely be up there with some of the best ceiling speaker sounds you'll hear. If it's raw sound quality you're after, then you may want to consider something like the Sonos PLAY:5 which you just plug into mains power. If you're concerned about the sound spilling into adjacent rooms, you can either enable Night Mode in the Sonos App which will suppress any of the louder sounds, or you can install an acoustic fire hood which acts as a fire prevention measure, and also sound leakage prevention. Hope this helps!

Can I add them with my current sonos 5.1 traditional speakers like Beam + sub + 2 play 1 + 4 ceiling speakers?
@smarthomesounds5 жыл бұрын
Hi Abhishek. If you already have the Beam, Sub and 2 x Play:1 set up and you'd like to integrate ceiling speakers, to use them as true surrounds, you would need to replace the Play:1s with 2 ceiling speakers. Sonos support up to a maximum of 5.1 Dolby Digital and the rears can come from either Play:1s or ceiling speakers. Hope that helps!

Can I use these for Dolby Atmos in Ceiling speakers
@smarthomesounds5 жыл бұрын
Hi Charles, they would make a great Dolby Atmos speaker thanks to their pivoting driver (not just the tweeter) so you can direct the sound where you want it. As long as you use them with an Amplifier that supports Dolby Atmos, they would be perfect for that. Hope that helps.

@smarthomesounds4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, thank you for watching. Yes, you can set these up as rear surround speakers instead of the Sonos Ones, to your Beam and Sub to give you 5.1 surround sound. You'll need to make sure you are powering them with the Sonos Amp and then this can be set up in the Sonos App. Alternatively, you can set these up as a separate room and then group with your existing 5.1, but they wouldn't be acting as true surround speakers. They would simply mimic the sound from your TV. I hope this helps!

no visible speaker wires lol...... guess you can say their are no antennas attached to the speakers or the speakers are free of lead paint. Of course the wires are not visible, you are hiding them in the ceiling and walls, which is going to be a large job and a lot of cutting your walls and ceiling apart. then you have to spackle, sand, repeat, then paint. It's NOT a simple option. Hence why the upward firing speakers are so popular. Do you have in ceiling speakers in your house? am betting you don't.
@CurvedSlightly5 жыл бұрын
Fuck me, so you STILL need an amp? For fucks sake, SONOS, why not just make a SONOS ceiling speaker with built in amp, like, oh, I don't know, the PLAY:1 or ONE? Fucking hell!
