Sonos Playbase V.S. Playbar

I had the all white 5.1 Sonos setup Playbase Sub and 2 play 1s looked great in my living room, With that being said my buddy that work for Greek squad he told me the Playbase looks great but if your looking for Sound quality go with the Playbar, The playbar sounds atleast 30% better with the sub and plays 1s then the Playbase, The Playbase is a great stand alone soundbar but the Playbar has a much wider sound range with the whole 5.1 setup, The Playbase can sound flat at times but looks nice with the setup the problem i have with the Playbar is it looks out dated but if you care about sound quality the Playbar is the way to go if you care more about looks the Playbase is the way to go.

The playbase has a small sub built in, but it has nothing to do with the name playbase as you mentioned. The playbase as the name indicates is a base you can put your TV on or just sits on top of furniture. Bass on the other hand is spelled differently. I have a playbase and the sound is good not perfect.

Rosario Diaz-Cintron your are correct, but the playbase also has its own woofer built it, to give you that extra bass ;). Regardless of the name, the playbase still puts out more bass and treble than the playbar.

Would you say that the playbar has enough bass on its own, even without a sub?

Yes I would, but paired up with the sub they both sound great.

Yeah u can do the same with the playbase. Sonos doesn't support 7.1 channel. Only 5.1 for the meantime who knows what the future may hold.

I already have a sonos sub with 2 Play 1's and am considering the playbar or playbase - I kind of like the idea of the playbase but would this be too much bass. It is to sit on a shelf underneath my TV.

Wayne Denton The majority of the bass won't be coming from either the playbase/playbar since you already have the sub. All of the bass will be coming from the sub, thus go with either one, there isn't a wrong choice, hope this helped.

The audio quality will be the same it will depend on what u would want.

At the start of the video you said you’re not gaining anything if you already have the play bar, then at the end of the video you say the playbase has a lot more bass and a lot more trouble - confused!

That extra bass, is not worth another upgrade. Plus dropping an additional $700 on the Playbase, not really worth it

I just purchased a Playbase with 2 play 1s and a sub running on my LG Oled 65" The system packs a great punch, The downfall the only option is Optical, if i purchase a Optical coverter to HDMi and converted Optical to HDMi threw my ARC will that enhance the sound quality?
