@@KalosPVP The rest of the band is giving plenty of room for Bumblefoot to shred as the guitar solo will always be the climax of Comfortably Numb. But you don't get to hear Portnoy doing double bass triplets or Billy Sheehan tapping at 200 BPM nor using his signature overdrive thick bass tone.

Dear Sons of Apollo, can you please thank Mr. Bumblefoot for playing the leads to perfection and to the original spirit of the song. He didn't make it crazy odd or over-the-top, just plain and simply great. I appreciated his interpretation as well as the rest of the band. Spot on gentlemen, spot on.
@TheEnderBand4 жыл бұрын
He didn't feel the need to sacrifice the familiar, beloved solo in order to make himself look good or anything, and that's commendable- he could easily have played totally different stuff but up to where the song would normally fade out, he did it note for note then added extra to the coda; I applaud him for his restraint and faithfulness

@@lumpy9964 I guess I was a bit too harsh with "that solo sucked big time"... I just don't like it that much. But it's definitely not as good as Gilmour on the Pulse live show. "He could easily play it just like Gilmour, but there's no excitement for him in doing that.." If that is true than this just shows that something is fundamentally wrong with this guitar player. 1. It's about the music, not about the musician's ego, 2. the arc of suspense and phrasing in the said live version from Pink Floyd is insane, if there would be no excitement in it for him than he wouldn't understand a whole lot about music. But seriously I doubt that. I bet that he knows he can't play it quite as good as Gilmore and the shred was definitely just a fan service for all you nerds. This is the difference between many great musicians and this guys. See Mike and Billy play with such a taste, such a feeling, so far away from what most of times people think is what they do best: shred, super fast metal stuff... Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I am a little happier now than just ten minutes ago.

Um baterista que canta Pink Floid, que sai do Dream Theater e faz um excelente trabalho em inúmeras bandas é simplesmente fenomenal. Um salve para o estimado Portnoy!

No doubt David's version on Pulse is the ultimate, many try but very few succeed in covering this musical masterpiece, but this is as close to perfection as you can get!
@patricksantana33372 жыл бұрын
I agree with your comment about the Pulse version. It is my favorite of my favorite song. This one is the best of the non Gilmour attempts that I have heard. It's different and there is a lot of shredding, but you never get lost in what song your hearing. I enjoyed the energy and obvious talent of the band and especially the guitar player.

He’s a good player , no doubt, but Van Halen style fret wanking has no place in a Floyd solo, much as i appreciate both styles.
@lumpy9964 Жыл бұрын
@@stoicsceptic8420 Stop gatekeeping. He did the same formula that Gilmour does for live performances, play the first half note for note then improvise the second half with what he feels which is exactly what Bumblefoot did here.

@rickfeith63724 жыл бұрын
Brit Floyd is basically Pinky reincarnate. Saw em at an outdoor show last year with 10,000 people. PHENOMENAL. They all use Fractal Axe Fx IIs direct to front of house with a quiet stage and in ear monitors. They play to a click and pretty much create a studio environment on the stage. Their tone is immaculate, and Damien Darlington is like Gilmour Jr. Go see Brit Floyd!!
