Sons of the Forest: Update 4 Build mechanics almost unchanged, though the change log says otherwise.

Hey Guys, Today's update does not seem to have changed as much as it says it does. Most of the notes that mention build-mechanic changes seem to be referring to uncommon glitches or were worded vaguely enough that I didn't understand what exactly they meant.
But floating platforms seem to be a little bit easier than prior to the update!

Made something interesting while trying to make a bed without tearing down a wall. Make a single platform on the ground, place 1/4 logs on all four sides, place full logs on top of the 1/4 logs, place a full log across the middle both ways to make an X, look around and find the snap points to place diagnal logs on all the 1/4 logs under the full log base.

What a relief that there's few actual changes. But i think it's also important what patchnote says. Game would eventually become what they say(tho it's currently not), which is lame and bummer for advanced constructors. One of successfully removed mechanism is putting walls across the sloped beams. From patch03 we can put planks between walls and sloped beams but that doesn't applied if slope grade is not 1x1. This change prohibits not only the range of expression but also some advanced skill I know. You can check the video "How to Build a 45 Degree Overhang! - Sons of the Forest" I can still build sloped overhang but it now requires additional full-log floor under it.

True. But the way they fixed the walls with slopes gives me a good feeling. Instead of making it impossible to have stairs or ramps against walls they just made the walls act as slopes if the correct condition is met.

Knight, I need something different for platform builds. After learning how to toggle the lakes on and off, I've got a few built-on lake beds with the first floor ending on the water's surface. It makes for a pretty cool build with a whole underwater first floor with hidden storage and such, but you can make only so many houses or castle-style buildings before it all looks the same.

I now got red arrows where shouldn't be and my fave clean Asian roof pointy ridge ends are now not possible due to a red arrow, unlike before. So my themed villages loose their flair, lame, hope they undo the supposed fixes.

A plausible, yet irritating solution to get that controll back, is build your slopes flat (complete with planks) and cut logs (a full frame below) down to get the slope you want, then support them temporarily from the sides and replace the cut logs and any floors that were destroyed in the process.

Absolutely, sometimes it wont let you place beams across between them but usually you can just add the logs that connect them as long as you build the frame with a gap of 1 log between them (which I recommend placing at least 1 post prior to removing any supports from the previous one for grid alignment)

That’s cap u now can’t build stairs with walls beside them I have seen a lot of people do it and now I can’t unless it has a gap or u have to jump to use stairs it sucks

Yes you can. It's actually really simple. If you place a sloped log 1 grid away from a wall, you can use the wall as the other slope for the stairs/ramp, even if there is no sloped log inside the wall.

At least as far as build mechanics changing. Most things they mentioned didn't change and the red arrow problem they said they improved seems a little worse than before. But all in all they didn't break anything and made one exploit easier.
