Yeah this was made before that update. I also prefer using rope bridges now to add ramps in finished constructions.

@@Meskwaki remove the planks both sides of the log at both the top and bottom of the ramp, then use a rope attached to both logs, follow that with planks on the ropes.

This is old and more difficult using this method. Ripdeisel has demonstrate a better technique for rotations I suggest you try that. (Ps I made a roof video for this too)

I haven't had a chance to play in a bit so maybe the update changed something, but if it hasn't, break it with a spear and you should be able to remove it that way. The spear doesn't damage surrounding logs like the axe so is better for precison

I just got the game myself and I'm also having that issue. The game won't let me take the support out at 2:11 in the video. I tried it a couple of times with no success. I had to break it out with a spear. Any time I came across that issue I could break the support out with a spear no problem.

I can think of 2 potential solutions (for more specific advice I'd need more details) 1. Build stepped foundations for the dormer frame. Eg: if your slope is 1/2 height per frame, use 1/2 logs for all posts under the slope in line with the dormer walls and place beams connecting them so you can build the walls/roofs off of them. 2. @@knightbeforedawn 5x6 roof No log - half log - full log - half log- no long For the arch (6 of them going across) In the center I tried to doing it adding a 3 height dormer. And I had it going good. But when I went to place the planks for the roof on the side of it, it wouldn’t react like yours did WITHOUT having two sloped logs. In your example you only had one sloped log and the dormer siding.. and it still Allowed you to put planks. Idk if it’s a “angle” thing.. to little and it doesn’t work, and significant slope it works.. Because I did build yours exactly the same off to the side to see if I was doing anything wrong on the size scale that you had and it worked fine

I don't use any mods at all anymore. While in game type "cheatstick" and then pres F1 to bring up the console and type "loghack on" which works for both logs and stones. Though when you do this, I think your keyboard needs to be set to English(USA). For some reason some other keyboard layouts don't work properly.

That's not the point. The point is to push the build system and see what we can make it do (without being limited to the defaults).

@@knightbeforedawn I tested it last night and it does now show the dashed line for spacing/alignment of rock pillars. I'm pretty sure they didn't work that way prior to this update. I could be wrong.

I have seen stone doors. They are uncommon and Its quite the balancing feat to get them to swing without a lot of force, but it does exist. Though Its not the kind of thing that one would usually build when stranded on an Island surrounded by hostile natives, so you have a good point.

Oh they're not doing that! I was just needing a break from SOTF. I have a full time job (often 12 hrs a day) and have over 450 hrs in SOTF so I was just looking for a change of scenery for a bit.

Yeah, It's not too bad when playing local. No worrying about how long things take because the world is on pause when you're not playing. Though the trade off if a tame (or anything) takes 1 hour it takes 1 hour of either AFK or active play. So it's more of a commitment. I may change the tame speeds as the series progresses especially after I increase the difficulty settings in later episodes (I plan to increase the difficulty continually, eventually getting to difficulties over 100).

Yeah I was also getting a little burnt out on SOTF I still want to play it and make videos for it but I needed a change in scenery for a bit.

Also with the feeling of people waiting for a video, you might play or test even though you may not feel like it that day . I first watched your videos because I wanted information now I watch you because theirs no swearing or yelling or cutting people down . What I'm trying to say is I watch you because of the way you conduct your self so if you want to play other games I would still watch you I be leave most of us would . But with it being summer time a lot of people are out side more so if it seems like less people are watching it's probably because of the weather not because of playing other games. If you want to change games every other video that's cool to you should only play games that you want to when you want to . Also by playing other games more people might watch you not every one plays sons of forest . Thees are just my thoughts on the subject I look forward to watching your next video and thank you

Yeah, me too I have just over 1000 hrs (1053.7 to be accurate) in ark, but it's been a while so I likely forgot a few things.
