I agree,been using supermarket baits for 49yrs now apart from the FajUKa baits such as their wafters on the odd method feeder hair rigged, but I make my own ground bait, dough at various consistencies, also I dig my big juicy lob worms (£00.00) free from back garden, (if no garden try local woods or fields) I do buy the odd pint of casters or maggots but the way tackle shop baits are always going up in price makes you wonder what are their main ingredients obviously,eggs (prob’ not free range) flour,very easy to get flavours, I flavour my own luncheon meat cut cubes squirt/ douse up a full tin into a plastic see through freezer bag get from supermarket Askey’s strawberry flavour sauce(heaven on ice cream), no artificial colours, flavours or not even preservatives. People are duped,tricked into shelling out money that they don’t need to, I’m not saying that all baits work the same when you fish same pond same peg the same time as yesterday that you won’t catch but there will be likely be differces in amount of indicators from float or tip, and indeed the amount of of fish you land ,to changes you may have made to hook size/ link etc but when bites don’t come how often do many of you say I’m gonna try so and so’s new range of baits overly mentioned during a session from an overly productive venue catching fish after fish “must be that new groundbait and pelletsWafters/boilies My grandson is being taught WaterCraft by me and his own logical mind I’ve give him a light rod and real showed him how to tie a good knot, how to check depth with plummet, and shot correct float and let him get on with it a this is vital teach on a natural venue Here lies the best knowledge from how changes in colour of water matter cloud cover, temperature yes naturalbaitsall besides a few tangles,he is becoming a great alrounder and yep he’s 11yrs old like I was.

Agree I would not pay £3 for a tin of corn with a bit of flavour. You can get 3 tins of green giant for £3:20 and a £3 for a flavour which lasts ages

Jamie does it matter size of corn as long as it's bright n fresh like u would use a 4 or 6 ml pellet or is it time of year

Got 2 tins of Sonubait banofee corn, was quite annoyed by how many diff sized pieces there are in can, cannot feed these accurate thru catapult....hopefully next can is better more unformed pieces and not as soft, short distance casts and corn is tearing and ready to fall off...

It's a winter tactic and was filmed 2 weeks ago in anticipation for cooler weather ahead. Can't remember many days this year that have seen lakes freeze and ice breaking required... old video?
