excllent! the tip about adding delay to hi hats (or other percussion) to fill in beats without adding trigs is brilliant! i never touch delay for some reason, but now i certainly will

Adore the A4. Hope they surprise us and give it live someday but even if not, its quite special
@dracul74Ай бұрын
Had the OG Analog 4. Loved the sound, loved tracks I made with it, hated the ui. I do miss it…sometimes :) imo if you have another box doing the drums you can get a lot more from it.

love these tunes! pattern 2 was real funky, and the one you made live was really fun too, great stuff

I love my A4 and will never sell it. It's a great synth for experimenting, drone, ambient, minimal and a nice complement to modular synth work. Cheers!

how does it fare for classic analog electro lead and bass sounds (like the SH101 or Minimoog ?) Does it have the grit and bass? I can't find any decent patch packs for the A4. Somehow always sounds a bit thin in demos.
@Post-destinationАй бұрын
The analog 4 can make some nice stuff by itself if you really learn and use all of its features. But it takes a lot more work and patience than most people have (myself included). But if you use it as a synth alongside another drum machine, it can sound incredible without much effort. I see the analog four as a powerful and dependable analog synth for basses, pads and keys.

Yeah, people get all worked up about finding one box that does it all. Drum sounds on the RYTM, synth sounds on the A4 👍

This was fantastic. I have a MK1 unit that sounds mostly the same. Now inspired to make a jam

Thanks and enjoy!

Tasty jam! I’m really loving the Elektron workflow on the Digitakt and Syntakt. I’ve looked at the A4 and Octatrakt but should stay focused on actually learning what I have. 😊

Thanks. Yes, it quickly gets a bit much handling multiple Elektrons. Then again…I really hope they'll make a Digitone Keys II. That would be a nice one :D
@ManmademadmanАй бұрын
excellent tips and tricks here, so thank you for that! I had no idea you could hold down a step and scroll for sounds. problem = solved!

Multiple drum sounds per track 👍

Thanks, yes this is the way for drums on A4.

Love the vid! Question, is there a way to edit multiple trig locks at once? Like if I have a kick on the 1 and 13. Could I edit kick on 1 and have it also effect the kick on 13 without copying it over?
@SONWUКүн бұрын
Short answer no…long answer, you can edit multiple steps by holding them all down, then adjusting parameters (but that usually only works when they are relatively close together…
@pkmehard9565Ай бұрын
track 2 rocks, you should finish that one! 🔥

I love that I can sequence CV with it. I do kinda wish it had midi tracks.
@SONWUАй бұрын
True!
@seanmattheisen7817Ай бұрын
You can sequence midi with it. Press track > notes setup and then scroll down to check send midi to make any track send midi. I don't think you can disable the internal synths tho, but fx and cv track still work well for external midi

Wie wär’s. Mit einem Roland p6 Video. Das Ding ist wirklich irre gut. Und das sage ich obwohl ich ein modular junkie bin. Da ist ein full fledged granular section drin.
@SONWUАй бұрын
Ich glaube, das wird leider nicht passieren. Ich habe einfach genug Sampler und brauche nicht noch ein Mini-Gerät. Sieht zwar cool aus, aber meine Zeit ist leider nicht unbegrenzt.
@asynchronicityАй бұрын
Is there a way to set this up as a module controlled from a keyboard so that you can round robin through a cycle of presets with each keypress?
@SONWUАй бұрын
Yes, that I believe that should be easily possible.
@asynchronicityАй бұрын
@@SONWU Easily? Maybe……….
@SONWUАй бұрын
@@asynchronicityI personally haven't played with this too much…but I think that once you have selected presets for all 4 tracks, in the Poly-Config menu you can set them to rotate through the different voices with their chosen preset.
@asynchronicityАй бұрын
@@SONWU Hmmm. It would be nice if you could set up a pool of say sixteen presets that it could cycle through with each keypress.
@Dekalboy23 күн бұрын
so you gave up your analog keys ?
@SONWU23 күн бұрын
Yup, it's an amazing device…but the new screens & encoders are much better for me. Other than that, the AK is amazing!
@Vincent-sy9snАй бұрын
Really like the majority of your posts; especially the OP1 stuff, but i find myself disagreeing with your assessment of the Analog Four. You only have the listen to the factory preset patterns which ship with the unit to hear what this machine is capable of, even though it has only four tracks - and man, what a bargain, that's four Elektron sequenced Synths in one box!). The same can be said for it when its in the hands of someone who can 'play' it utilising its performance capabilities (see Ivar Tryti). I love mine and would never part with it).
@SONWUАй бұрын
Sure, I understand what you mean. I meant that people who are looking for a classic groovebox may be disappointed in terms of voice-count etc. Otherwise it is an incredible synth, with a lot of unique features. 👌
@MaterialMikeАй бұрын
That’s the thing about Elektron they are fun to play with for a bit then they get boring. I actually haven’t touched my Digitakt, Digitone and syntakt since I picked up the Ableton move I’m having so much fun with it.
@SONWUАй бұрын
Yeah, that's understandable. I really wish for one more "complete" box from Elektron. I think the MOVE would annoy me too though…no sample reverse, no easy slicing, etc. But I am glad you like it.

Ive got a analog 4 mk1 and been finding new sounds and ways of making sounds for over 3 years now its really an interesting device especially the 2 analog filters and the audio rate lfo are really nice imo. Feel like you can make nice music with most synths you just have to be creative. Feel like too many people in this community just end up buying way to much gear bc they never really properly learn all its functions:/
