I am a big fan of 24-70 f2.8 AND 70-200 f2.8. Pretty much covers everything I could ever need and f2.8 is more than enough since camera's can push ISO so much these days.

Great video as always Aaron. This lens seems like the best jack of all trades, and while I agree that primes are great, zoom lenses like 24-70 are just so convenient!

The "budget" options for me are still expensive so a GM lens is just like a complete no go for me. Have you ever used the samyang 24-70?

For anyone considering this lens, just get it. Even if it's more expensive than Sigma and Tamron etc, it's totally worth it for the better image qualtiy and the lightness cannot be overstated. It makes such a huge difference!

Love the review Aaron. This lens really can do EVERY THING. Random q but do you think it's worth it to get a lens like this on finance? I thought about the sigma but I'm afraid of the weight being tiny and having the arms of noodles...

I'm not a fan of taking things on finance though I have done in the past. I'd say if you can afford it and can pay it off responsibly and you're in employment (and not pay too much interest) then it's fine but these days I'd rather just save up for something!

Any GM lens is a great investment because not only can you trust a 1st party lens for best quality and focusing, but also retains price quite well compared to 3rd party in my experience.

I have not used the 28-70 so it's hard for me to say, I guess it would depend on whether you value 24mm over 28mm and f2.8 over f2. I've heard it's great though!

I prefer the reach from a 24-105 and I can live with f4 but yeah I agree the 24-70 can cover pretty much everything!

I just do photo for hobby so I dont need the best of the best but it's true once you go GM it's hard to go back.

Double the price of the Sigma is a hard pill to swallow for 95% of the performance though, but I hear what you're saying!

Haha the thing is Sony GM lenses do hold their value much better than third party from my experiece, so it won't depreciate in value too badly!

Yeah I saw it and saw the price tag haha! Pretty sure others will start release their own 24-105 2.8 soon but don't expect them to be cheap!
