I’m almost sure I’m going to get this set of lenses for the fx30. The whole set is basically the same price as a single full frame cinema lens so the value definitely overcomes the minor flaws like chromatic aberration. I’m just wondering if long term, the lack of weather resistance would negatively affect the performance, maybe if dust were to get in?
@RudyVisuals4 күн бұрын
I think they would pair great with the fx30! I can't say for sure about long term use as I haven't owned them for long enough but so far so good!

I am a full time corporate video producer. The FX-6 is an excellent workhorse. For those all day shoots lasting 8-10 hours on a tripods\ while filming talking heads, you cannot ask for a better solution. When it comes to running and gunning with B-Roll and moving around on a gimbal my FX-3 is my go to camera. Running B-Roll with and FX-6 is a different experience without IBIS. Whereas running an FX-3 all day on NPZ 100 batteries isn’t possible. You need a V-mount battery with a dummy battery included. My point is that they’re both capable however, their strengths are different. I never show up at a job with just one camera anyway. My motto is that you need a backup for your backup.

Really great to hear your experience and definitely agree! Both great cameras but suited for different things for sure!

Budget lenses are getting better all the time, if you think how terrible they used to be like 10 years ago. I remember when Sigma was considered a crap brand and look at it now!

Hi there. So if it’s a fixed aperture does that mean you cannot have a f/stop 5.6 if you are filming more landscapes?
@RudyVisuals4 күн бұрын
You can still change to f5.6. Fixed aperture means it will stay at whatever aperture you have it when you zoom in and out. Whereas cheaper lenses will close up towards the longer focal length.

A great review, all too often a lot of reviewers neglect to keep in mind that at least half of the people buying these things are amateurs like myself so don't go around pixel peeping.

I own this tripod and had the same sort of question. 2:00 The reason for the offset handle on the bag is when you load the tripod, you put the head towards the short side of the bag. The bag then balances out. If it were in the center then the bag would be heavy toward one side or the other. I don't like it personally but I do see the logic in the design and it does work.
@RudyVisuals12 күн бұрын
Thanks for that! Yeah that does make sense - tbh I don't keep it in the case anymore!

"Great review! 🔍 The Sirui Sniper lenses seem impressive for the price, especially with that fast f/1.2 aperture. The 16mm looks perfect for wide shots, while the 75mm seems to shine for portraits. Thanks for breaking it all down! 📸👌

Hey Rudy great video! Quick question: do you think the video quality would be much richer & more excellent on something like a Sigma 35mm f/1.8 prime lens versus using this lens when put at a focal length of 35mm? Debating whether I should buy something like this for video or whether a prime with a lower f-stop like a f/1.4 or f1.8 will look much more cinematic for video. Thanks!!
@RudyVisuals12 күн бұрын
Yes, absolutely. A prime will always be sharper so it just depends on whether you want the very best image quality or the versatily that a zoom lens can provide.
