Great information. I’m going to stick with my A1i for a while longer. Most impressive thing I took away from the video was how much weight you carry in your camera bag. The forest shot at the beginning used lots of heavy lenses.
@doogieham2 ай бұрын
Albert, thanks for your fantastic video. Of all the Sony A1 II videos I’ve watched, yours is by far my favourite. I really like how you integrated a wide variety of shooting scenarios into your video so we can see the camera in action. And, you’re such a humble guy. I have a few questions for you comparing this camera to the A7RV: - Is the LCD larger and higher resolution than the A7RV? - Besides the drive mode dial, are there any differences in the handling? For example, is the grip larger? - Is the IBIS noticeably better?
@viramati5831Ай бұрын
Thanks. I do wish that they had kept the compensation dial with the markings on it (I had brought this up 6 months ago with Pro service) apart form that the camera fulfils what I had hoped for from the upgrade so will be trading in my A1 for this
@mikeyb98192 ай бұрын
Very interesting, thanks for posting. Noted your method of focusing on the fly’s eye whilst it was sitting on a mushroom - why didn’t you use the A1 11’s insect eye focus? Doesn’t it work?

Thank you Albert .. very good review, there is one thing I want to know and I still can’t find a resource for it which is compare the resolution of A7r4/5 to the A1 side by side .. I want to see the difference between the 60 and 50 make megapixel because in many times I crop a lot .. specially for birds, do you have any side by side shots ?

Nice presentation, it reflects your passion of photography. Did you happen, or had the opportunity to test the eye autofocus for the facetted eyes of insects yet? That would be a very delicate way to add to the macro options too. grtz Rob

Albert, thanks for the great early look at the A1 II, I really enjoyed it. For the higher ISO shots did you apply any kind of noise reduction at all?

Spec seams very similar to the Canon R5 but 0ver $2000 more expensive, are Sony intent on pricing themselves out of the market
@thomastuorto99292 ай бұрын
A71M2 Probably doesn’t overheat & 30fps full raw. Doesn’t lock up etc. & most likely still the best total AF system available today. Don’t get me wrong, if one has a smaller budget, the Canon is a great deal & I have been saying for years that the original Canon R5 & 100-500 is the best bang for buck & still do with its reduced price point. With that said, there is a reason most news media & sports photographers have switched to Sony. Doesn’t mean everyone should or needs to. But it would be nice to know that when one presses the shutter, they have a better than 90% chance of nailing the shot!

… no, the a1 II sells at the beginn of 2025 very well.
@giancarloarrobarodriguez52918 күн бұрын
No for quite a few reasons but that argument is the same for the flagship R1 from the same company…. Canon have a some issues that made the R5 worst than the A1.

Do you need "everything" !? I have the excellent Sony A7RV which was less than half the price of the A1, I get better image quality than the A1 and I can have two Cameras for less than the price of a A1 !

Except price. Sadly way overpriced. Get an OM System OM-1MKII if you want same features lower price. Bar the MP.
@AlbertDrosPhotography2 ай бұрын
Regarding features, sure, the OM System is great. But regarding image quality in terms of ISO performance and Dynamic Range, you really can't compare the OM System with any high end full frame system.
