I've had the SonyA6000 since Christmas 2016 and I never got around to actually learning it and just relied on Auto everything. Thanks for the great tips. I am still learning things about this camera. I have had it since it came out 7 years ago. Love the faster auto focus tip during video. Here's a great tip that I learned the other day. You can put a small piece of black tape on the bottom part of the sensor next to the viewfinder. This will prevent the camera from switching to the viewfinder view when you move the camera closer to your body. Now the camera will only switch to the viewfinder when your eye is looking through the viewfinder.

Hi ! thank you for your informational videos just when I was going to throw in the towel with my a6000. Is there is any way that while filming a video I am able to see whatever is being filmed via a computer or another device? I think this is called live view.

Hi! In "Creative styles" there are choices between "standard" and "vivid" (excluding other ones). So, when i point the camera to a dark spot and set it to "vivid" i lose details in shadows, but if change it to "standard" i can see more details in shadows. Does it mean i can win 1 or 2 ISO stops in low light if set to "standard" as apposed to "vivid"? Or is it just my imagination? Sorry for my lame english Thank you!

I just use a charger to charge an extra battery while I'm using the camera. I don't think you can use it while it's charging.

Hi Al, yes, if you go into the Menu, tab #2, page #1, click on DISP Button, select Monitor, then checkmark "Histogram."

I have a really frustrating problem with my Sony a6000 that I have not been able to solve. Before I take a photo, the colors are natural, but after taking a photo, the camera automatically adjusts the colors. I can actually watch it change the color during the two second viewing period. It does this no matter what white balance,setting, or mode it is set to. And the colors on my photos look unnatural because of this. Do you know how to fix this?

I purchased this camera and loved it but kept getting an error message randomly and it got annoying cus it would happen often and only fix was removing the battery. when I looked online I found different post from other users having the same issue. has anyone else here had that issue? im just wondering if maybe I happened to get a defective camera and should repurchase and give another shot. or if this is coming with this camera?I really liked it when it worked properly

One more alpha 6000 question... does the A6000 have the focus hold bottom as a customizable button ? I can’t find it on the menu

If you go into the Menu, tab #2, page #6, Custom Key Settings, set that option to AF/MF Control Hold. If you have the focus mode set to continuous (AF-C), you can press the AEL button to hold the current autofocus position, so that when you half-press the shutter button it won't continuously autofocus on a new point.

You can only change this setting if the quality is set to "Fine" or "Standard" (not RAW / RAW+JPEG)

Hi Charles, that is not normal behaviour and my camera has never done that. I always turn the camera off after changing any settings and only remove the battery when the camera if off. I hope you are not removing the battery while the camera is ON?

Very interesting I didn't know about that faster focus setting! Thanks for that. I'm still waiting on my 2 a6000 to arrive. Going to be using them to film a chat show I got going on over here in ibiza called Ibiza Amigos. They will be both plugged into OBS.
