Such a killer video!!! The A6700/FX30 aren't bad at all in low light. Only caveat is that Zebra values do vary depending on which LUT you use (or don't use). For example, if you shoot in SLOG3 with Gamma Display Assist, your lower limit zebra is 94+. If you put it at 100+ you will not see any zebras even if you are clipping the highlights. I use Gamma Display Assist because it's consistent across all Sony cameras and only need to worry about 2 custom zebras - 94+ for highlights and 52 +/- 1 for skin tones. Easy peezy. Keep up the AWESOME content!!
@AdamRana10 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for the informative comment! If one is working with s-cinetone, would Gamma Display Assist still need to be used, and what would the custom zebras be when using s-cinetone?

I've been shooting for major clients for over 40 years. From film to digital. Listen to this guy he's giving you good advice. Understand your lens your camera your lighting your exposure your composition. With digital do these things and you will never need to color correct on 99% of your jobs. The only jobs that need any color correction are those that request it up front or theatrical releases. The rest of these people out there touting all this color correction bull are wasting your time. Most of all CREATE GOOD CONTENT.

Where does the baseline ISO start with RAW photos? And is there a dual baseline too?
@JPtheOG10 ай бұрын
I have to admit I got a bit lost. Firstly, it appears you are suggesting that base ISO applies to stills along with video? Either way, I plan on shooting video using the S-Cinetone picture profile but unclear on how you know where your base ISO is in order to then select a 2nd baseline 5 levels higher?
@seandewispelaere10 ай бұрын
Should have clarified that the dual iso is for video only. S-Cinetone base is 125 so the 2nd is 400. Should have all of that outlined on the chart 🤙
@JPtheOG10 ай бұрын
@@seandewispelaere ah, ok, thank you. So if using s-cinetone, you are suggesting to switch the ISO to 400 given that profile had a base ISO of 125 already identified in the camera?

So if 2500 is 5 stops above 800, would it make sense that ISO 2000 (800 + 4 stops) would have the same noise as ISO 6400 (2500 + 4 stops)? If so, would 800-6400 be a good range to shoot with (not ideal but Max)?

@WhatThePheel4 ай бұрын
I wanted to love this camera for making low light short films, but it's terrible and NEEDS post noise reduction which is a bummer. Tested it with slog3 - f1.4 lens 1/48 shutter 2500 second base ISO, even over exposing scenes with studio lights at +1.7 just to keep the second base ISO of 2500, there's still tons noticeable noise and especially color noise in the shadows. Yes, I've tested the same shot with an super old A7iii and that produced zero noise, so it's definitely not my settings or the lighting setup. Definitely disappointing, hence I'll be switching over to the ZV-E1 and from all the videos I've seen on your ch about it. I know it's going to be a beast for low light.

@kristiyangoytchev30059 ай бұрын
Actually the a6700 is REALLY good in low light ONLY if you shoot under 500 ISO. BUT here comes the BIG PROBLEM!!! You don't see anything on the display If you put the Auto ISO from 100 to 6400 max. The display is okand you can see what are you shooting, but the shots are really noisy and blurry. Which means for events this camera is kind of bad. If you want to have amazing sharp photos, get ready to shoot on a black display
