you need to try the touchpad feature in the settings. When using the viewfinder, it lets you swipe across the screen to move around your focus point and is pretty intuitive

Thanks and I've used that. I think I featured the touch spot AF feature in the video? Still prefer a joystick, but I know a lot of people like the method that you mentioned.

Cool tips, thanks! As a beginner starting off with a6700, I've never used a camera with a joystick before. I found myself adapting to the touchscreen pretty intuitively. That said, I believe this situation is similar to the evolution of cellphones, the millennials and younger people have skipped some tech & features along the way and embraced the new thing as it is.

A6700 is Sony's perfect APS-C camera. It has great photography and videography features all in one camera. At a much more affordable price tag too, I definitely recommend it to anyone that prefers APS-C over Full-Frame.

I shot test footage with the a6700 at a Sony event at a local Samy's Camera in Los Angeles about a month ago. When I got home and reviewed the footage, I was extremely impressed. I'm a filmmaker, so my focus is on video. I currently run with the FX30. And from what I've been able to pull out of the a6700 footage, it's clear that it's a perfect b-cam to my FX30. Great job covering the power of the a6700. Thanks. (EDIT: Oh, and the reframing feature is great for my solo short film projects.)

I think it is with the AI chip addition although the color science seems to have been adjusted in a good way from my perspective. Noticing that on your end?

@@seandewispelaere Yes, def better color science. I've thought about trading in my FX30 for it since that reframing feature would work wonders for my solo projects. But, I'm holding out to get it as a b-cam so I can use two cameras at the same time for different angles in one scene. Cutting production time in post.

Hi man. Great video, Sony is really building a strong camera line up. And not crippling the features. 6700 is a very solid option for a camera that have enough features for most creators. A selfish idea for a video. Do a a7 Iv photo settings and buttons etc. you have a d good one for video Btw. Like always insane B roll. I haven’t seen anyone put so much effort into the B with such a great explanation. 💪 Cheers

Would you recommend this camera to a stills shooter? I do full time headshots and portraits and I want something light and fast, currently shooting FUJI XT5 but thinking of jumping. What lenses would you recommend to rival a 50mm and 85mm equivalent? And a 35? I’m seriously thinking of switching from Fuji to Sony (XT5 to A6700). I use the Fuji 56, 33 and 23 (85, 50 and 35 equivalents). What 3 Sony lenses would give me those focal lengths? Am I crazy to think the Sony A6700 could rival the XT5 or would you say it might?

I had A6300/6400, I waited 4K/60 in A6600. Everything has improved, except for the viewfinder, the screen and the quality of the photograph :( But this is primarily a photocamera. Due to 26 MP sensors, noise became even a little more. It is because of this that I want long been a full frame. R III my dream, but there the video is not very high quality :(

Shooting actual film wasn't perfect for once and a lifetime moments either, and I still did it lol. I really like my a6700.

Do you really loss quality with the 4k 120p? Seeing as it's crop 6K sensor, the 1.5 crop at 120 is STILL full, 4k...?

Great video, thank you! Btw, I love that viewfinder location. Big fan. Coming from an X100V, this is natural for me. And I don't care about micro HDMI or a double card slot. But I do find the rolling shutter still a bit too bad for my liking. However, it's loads better than my ZV-E10. :)

Answer to your initial question is a resounding YES. Now that I have used mine for a while I have to agree, it is as perfect as a camera can be at this point. How good is it: Put a $6,000 Leica next to the $1,300 a6700 and lets see what you can do. With that $6 grand, one with the a6700 can buy a lot of gear and lenses. The Leica owner is happy with a single lens. Who's going to have more fun????

The overheating issue! I wanna know! Because i live in a country where it gets to 50 degrees C (122F) i used to own an a6300, and shooting videos under the extreme gulf heat is just 😂😂😂 i really don't want to recall how troublesome it was. Anyone in the middle east owns an a6700 that can let me know their experience regarding the overheating issue? 😂😂

Lots of info! Thanks! However, the a6700 is not a perfect camera! I have the a6400 and upgraded to the a6700 in July 2024. It has some issues. 1) One is the LCD is NOT "fully articulated" like it is in the A7RV.; the LCD cannot be tilted up or down while on the back of the body; a6400 can tilt but does not have flip out. A7RV tilts on body AND flips out. 2) Another, is the e-mount flange is about 2mm TOO SMALL to engage the gasket on Sony FE lenses; compromises water resistance. 3) Another, Sony REMOVED panorama mode! a6400 has it! 4) Yet another, with HDMI output, the LCD is deactivated. Not so with the USB output! using an Android device with Monitor+ app, the LCD stays on when the Monitor+ app is displaying on the Android device. 5) While the a6700 does have IBIS, it does NOT have pixel shift. This is relatively easy to implement in a camera with IBIS! The a7RV has it. I'm sure there are more... These are all items Sony could easily implement/correct, but does not...can you say "a6900"
