Great Video Henbu ! Most people might know this but still wanted to point out - While we can not configure the Fn button for any other functionality, the menu inside the Fn button is highly customizable and various different options can be selected and changed. To change the default shortcuts to other available shortcuts for both Photo and Video : 'Menu->Setup->Operation Customize->Fn Menu Settings (select and press ok on any of the shortcuts which will then allow to select other possible setting option to be part of Fn Menu)

My settings on my a7iv are different in that when I use XAVC S 4K, I can only choose 25p and 140m 4:2:2 10bit, otherwise it’s 100M 4:2:0 8bit

Hey, nice tut. At 14:11 when u r setting the custom dial. When you set the frame rate to 60fps, the APS crop mode automatically goes ON. I'm trying that here too. It seems that the A74 cant shoot full frame in 50 or 60fps?

Great video! I’m coming from using the a7r4. Is there a reason as to why my photos are coming out darker than when I originally shoot? Luckily, it hasn’t damaged any of the photos as I’ve been able to edit them as needed but it seems different from what I’m seeing in my viewfinder/screen

Great vid, maybe you are aware but you can get 10 bit 422 120p if you do it through s&q mode. You lose the audio but well worth it for the better colour space I recon

I noticed that the Image Quality sections for video and photo look a little different. I noticed Aspect Ratio only shows up in photo mode, does this mean that all video is automatically shot in 16:9 or is there another place to change that as I didn’t see an aspect ratio setting for video.

Good intro and basic settings video, but some of the info was a little misleading. Such as the 1/2/3 dials settings can be completely different for photo and video. I'd also point out that there is also a custom menu with quick access to your most used settings

You said there was a problem with 8bit and slog3 in the old cameras. But you set up HD120fps with 8bit and slog3 for the a7 IV. So is this really recommended or isn‘t it better to record in 709 for HD120fps with 8bit?

It's a very well-made and informative video! Thanks for all of that! One tip. Some KZbinrs say "now we're going to go ahead and" over and over. You were using the word "actually" over and over and even used it three times in one sentence. That's something to eliminate from your presentation because it means the same thing without the word.

Just an update here, If you want to use 4k 4.2.2 10 bit format then it might be the case your computer will not support the file format. Apple may support it. Also, it depends on which software you are editing. If you are using Davinci Resolve free version then you won't be able to edit the video as it does not support the codec. Only Studio version of Davinci resolve supports it. Also, If you are using the footage for Social media platforms then its okay to go with 4.2.0 8 bit, because all social media platform down sample the video to 4.2.0 8 bit, so all of your hard work goes in vain. It's great when you are shooting a film or wedding video or music video which you are going to see it directly on the screens or client has that high creative requirements.

Hi Henbu! So at the moment I got the A6400.. but I want to upgrade to either the A7iv or the ZV-E1 or the A7Siii / FX3 (these 2 are a bit over my budget though) which one would you recommend for filmmaking, social media use, both photo and video? A7iv: Price is great but I hate that there's a crop at 4k60&120. ZV-E1: It's literally an A7Siii but has overheating issues, other than that it lacks normal hdmi (for Atomos Ninja V). A7Siii: I was going to pull the trigger on this one.. I really want it because it has crazy low light performance, awesome dynamic range.. almost no crop (except 1.1x at 4k120 + has mechanical shutter for pics) only downside is lack of firmware updates & pricing :( (maybe I should wait for price drop?). FX3: Same as A7Siii but without that beautiful EVF and has latest updates.. PLS HELP I can't DECIDE. :'(

what program do you use to edit your videos? Anytime I switch to 100m 4:2:2 10bit i get a statement that a corresponding environment is required to playback of movies recorded in XVAC HS 4:2: 10bit.
