FINALLY !! Someone gave me an explanation about this. 😶

Another workaround is to just "zero out" all the start timecode metadata in DaVinci Resolve. There's a few scripts floating around that will allow you to do this as a batch, so it's a one-click fix.
@diegodante19832 жыл бұрын
Yes, I second this! This is what I am using in multiple projects. Isolate the A7s clips and run a python script so that all clips start from zero. It works perfectly.

The only thing that worries me about scripting is that any update to DaVinci might end up breaking it and then if you don’t know how to script and are just bolting on something you find online you end up at the mercy of whenever it gets fixed. Would be nice if BMD allowed to do this in a batch.

@@diegodante1983 bro, can you teach me how to do that. PLEASE

I was curious and tested... rewrapping using EditReady does remove quite a bit of metadata, including gyro data. FCP also removes this metadata when rewrapping/copying to the Library. The only way I've found to keep timecode is to import directly from the SD card into a FCPX Library, but then of course other metadata is lost. It's quite a mess and FCPX is the problem.

FWIW - You can use CommandPost to update a FCPXML with the correct timecode from Sony cameras.

@@chrisatlatenite I'd love a tutorial on how to do this. Thank you.
@FelipeBaezFilms2 жыл бұрын
For sure it loses the gyro metadata unfortunately. It’s not exactly FCP being the problem, it’s part of it. The main issue is AVFoundation and any application using it (and a lot of them do) will have this issue. Of course, it’s very pervasive with FCP due to the massive number of Sony shooter and the equally massive number of FCP editors. This is something that both Apple and Sony need to work on and improve.

It’s in the folder set as your media folder for the library.

@@FelipeBaezFilms for me i had to go '' open package contents'' on my projects and it was hidden withing the events..
@FelipeBaezFilms Жыл бұрын
That’s because you had media set to “In Library”. First thing you need to do is to change that.

Why we need a unique file name sir, c0001,c0002 is already unique? Btw thanks a lot
@FelipeBaezFilms Жыл бұрын
Definitely not unique as when you format your camera those file names will reoccur.
