It's funny how when the R comes out it's always the first of each family line and it has the newest innovations of any Alpha at the time, but then when the non-R comes out the non-R is significantly more updated and has newer features and the R seems a bit behind in certain ways until the next generation again.

The best real world review on the A7r5 I’ve seen to date. As an events photographer I was keen to see how the camera performed in low light compared to the A7r4 (which was disappointing to be honest) and you’ve been able to answer that question where other KZbinrs could not. Most of them read off a spec sheet but yours was genuine real world in a busy location. Nailed it. Love your energy, humour and style Jason. I’m now a subscriber. What a BEAST of a camera! As a stills shooter only, this is really a perfect camera! Combined with the GM lenses, which are super expensive, the results are insane! The boost in IBIS, the autofocus system, this PERFECT screen..

@@razafiarisonmichael4421 I have the "prehistoric" sony a6000 from 2014 with a decent set of crop lenses - sony 50 1.8, sony zeiss 16-70 f4 (it's a huge disappointment) and finally the cheap trash telephoto sony 55-210. I desperately need upgrade to my lenses, but this is also a problem in two directions: the first and a biggest problem is budget, and the second problem is that my hand is super shaky, so a monopod/tripod is a must, but this solution is not super convenient and comfortable, so I am forced to rely on image stabilization of the lense. However, nowadays almost all the digital photography manufacturers produce modern technology of IBIS in their camera bodies and the tendency of avoiding image stabilization in the lenses is spread out very quickly. This makes my situation more worse than ever....

I mean if you need full frame cameras later, but FF lenses directly since it's the same mount. then buy the full frame body You can learn about focus as well. you dont necessarily need bird eye AF and fish AF to focus them with the newest camera AI. Because there is an option for that on older cameras, but you have to click your target.

This honestly resolves almost every short coming I had with the A7riii. Which was the IBIS and the flip/tilt screen. Matching dual card slot is welcome and the improve EVF is nice. Improve AF is also welcome as I had so many missed shots when it come to wild poses. Improve AF and bird tracking will be most helpful once I get the 200-600mm G.(late 2023). I honestly don't think waiting for the A1 mkii would be worth it for my needs. As the extra cost could go to the 200-600mm. Or even other glass like the 14mm.

I’m writing this to you because you have used Sony equipment extensively. I’m using A7R5 along with Sony flash HVL-F60RM2 Sony FA-WRC1M Wireless Radio Commander. When I connect either of these units and turn them on. I started seeing a considerable lag when pressing the shutter and the shot being captured. Precisely, press shutter half way, EVF goes dark, appears to be looking for focus, and then the shot is captured. There is a delay. Turn the units off, no delay. I have searched around internet, forums, youtube and have not found a definite answer. I have come across some suggestions and have applied some of these but no solution. Thank you in advance for taking the time and addressing this issue.

I have sold my SONY A7 IV and purchased a Sony A7R V and the complaint I have is the monitor screen. Sony tech specs rate the screen as being 2,095,104 DOTS and that is meaningless to me and I Imagin pretty well everyone else in 2024. The DOT reading is from forty years ago, but Sony and other camera manufactures use the DOT system because 2,095,104 DOTS sounds impressive however it really means you can’t see the subject matter in bright light on the monitor screen. Cameras with low quality monitor screens are not professional cameras. I can go out in the bright sunlight with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and take a photograph and there is no loss to quality on the screen, I paid far less for the iPhone than the A7R V. The way I deal with this monitor screen issue is to use a Accsoon SeeMo 4K camera monitor device with my iPhone 15 Pro Max that displays 2,000 NITS outdoors. Why should we pay thousands of dollars for cameras with monitor screens that are not viewable in bright light? I do a lot of focus stacking and I need a screen that I can see everything in the shot I am taking using the monitor screen. Most people use their monitor screens for setting up their shots not a viewfinder. The reason Sony and other camera manufacture get away with putting low end monitor screens is that KZbin and other camera reviewers never talk about the camera poor quality monitor screens. Your frightened to make any negative comments because you may not get to do a pre-release review of the manufactures latest new camera or miss out on free trip paid by Sony or whoever. Reviews often make their disclaimer at the beginning of their video review and then some reviewers say this is an honest review but should add except for the monitor screen, the monitor screen a very import part of the camera. Camera manufactures need to improve their camera monitor screens and provide the technical information about the screen in NITS given its 2024.

What? No love for the 10-bit 4:2:2? Perhaps this isn't as big as I initially thought? I'd dare to say that for an above-average hobbyist who does portraits and video, this thing is close to perfection, especially due to 10-bit 4:2:2 in video. I just finished grading some A7RIII footage, and it is always a huge challenge working with tonality.

In reality, your client will never know the difference between any work shot on the A7RV and the A7IV for photo or video PERIOD. Yes, The screen is amazing on the A7RV, but let's be real that should be a standard feature on EVERY sony camera. If you're a serious photographer you wouldn't be watching this video and already own the A1 and are pissed off that you don't have a dope screen that should have been on every camera 4 years ago. For someone like me who shoots mainly video but is a passionate photographer, the A7IV is way better bang for your buck considering Im not wasting 1,500 dollars. I could take a vacation at that point... you get my point.

it's such a useless camera.. we love hybrid these days.. period.. the real deal would have been an A9SIii with 6k video up to 60p. and stacked sensor.. 24 mp... it's enough for photo.. and the R should have been a revolution on the sesor size... first medium format by sony.. so besides the hype.. of the new camera.. like all R won't be so successfull in sells... let's be honest.. instead i would buy fuji for photos 100 mpx with larger sesor..

When I use the sensor cleaning function (dust) and run the command, the sensor does not vibrate like in the Sony A7IV, but remains still and only a slight tick tick is heard. People told me that it is normal of this sensor do not vibrate why Sony A7RV uses new generation ultrasound. This is true ?
