Wonderful intro Michael and the pictures speaks for themselves. Here the 61 MP comes to its right in right in crop mode and I just wonder which images was taken in aps-c more or the TC 1,4, and both in combination and which were not? But it is not without reason people calls the 100-400mm GM for one of the best Sony lenses at all times. It simply shines. I have had, beside landscape, great shooting street photos too. Here your may be as stealth as possible and get yet get natural shots. Once more, thanks for sharing your video Mike :)

Beautiful pictures, but you should stop telling people that switching to crop mode on a full-frame camera changes 400mm to 600mm. It does not. Your subject is no larger (in pixels) in the crop mode than it would be in full-frame mode. The picture is just cropped in camera instead of in post. The crop mode is great for saving storage and for increasing how many shots you can buffer, but it doesn't increase the reach of the lens/camera. Thanks for the great video!

Thank you - and yes, you are right. You get the same results as if you would put the same lens on a e.g. APS-C Alpha 6400. The way I "explain" it is a bit due to my english. Another benefit of course using crop mode is that you compose the shot with the crop being applied while shooting, and not later on the computer. Thanks for watching!

@@mrmschaa Noch mal eine Frage zumThema. Besitzt ja selber das 100-400er an der A9 ... mir fehlt aber Reichweite. Hatte an das 200-600er gedacht. Andererseits ... eine A7RIV im Cropmodus .. beim Objektiv würde ich von 5.6 auf 6.3 hochgehen ... was denkst du .. vom Preis mal abgesehen.

@@niconic6660 Es kommt auf den Einsatzzweck der Kamera an. Die A9 ist schneller und hat keinen Blackout. Das kann ein enormer Vorteil sein. Die A7R4 ist vom AF schon wirklich super, aber die A9 immer noch ein Stück vorne - ist ja auch klar. Daher würde ich es davon abhängig machen ob Du die A9 und ihr Spezialkönnen brauchst. Ich werde z.B. das 200-600 kaufen. Wenn ich Tiere fotografiere brauche ich oft mehr Reichweite als 400mm. Und der 1.4 Teleconverter am 100-400 klaut ja auch Licht. Allerdings ist das 200-600 schon weniger kompakt als das 100-400 GM. Leider gibt es da keine Patentlösung - ausser beide zu kaufen ;-)
