I Got the update at 7:30pm on my 77inch A80j been playing demon soul returnal. Vrr works great nice and smooth

I have the Sony 50 X90 J. Downloaded the VRR update last night. I got VRR to work once @60Hz on my PC (6800XT) . Then I tried to set it at 120Hz VRR & I haven’t been able to get it to work again. So I just re-set it 120Hz no VRR. Ill play around with it again later this evening

VRR is useful for stability when games are trying to reach 120fps but is not generally necessary as most console games have a stable frame rate of 60 or 30 fps. This stability makes possible the use of motion technology but you were always told not to use it for gaming and use game mode instead to eliminate any input lag. @@andreyutzuu the fact that I can keep HDR at 4k over 60hz. Before the update it would green screen or loose signal if I tries to go to 120hz at 4k with HDR.

looks great on the Series X, I can definitely tell a difference in Elden Ring since the frames aren't as good on the PS5

Thoughts on the lack of local dimming please. I might buy the X90J now PS5 has VRR support but the lack of LD is putting me off.

I got it on x90j a couple of days ago. Running good. I am not sure yet but the picture seems a bit darker or the colors seems boosted. Maybe just placebo. I am no expert.

Did you publish the professional calibration settings? I updated my 65a80cj it works great. Playing Halo Infinite on Xbox Series X 4k 120 with no flickering in the menu's like other videos state not sure if they have there settings different than mine but mine works flawless.

I have it downloaded on my 75in x90j but with no vrr on ps4 pro or ps5 yet I have no way of testing passed the part of then new enhanced vrr feature available on hdmi selector

It's the chipset manufacturer for the Bravia TVs not so much Sony per say that is at fault here

Just updated my Sony x90j with the new vrr update but my series x won't let me turn it on, I don't know why...

I found the problem, I needed to go into the tv settings and change the HDMI input settings to turn on the vrr feature. Now it is recognized by my series x as having vrr. If anyone else has the same problem I hope this helps them.

@@sumitchaudhary343 yes I did notice that with vrr enabled I am not able change as many picture settings which is a little disappointing. The tv stays in game mode when vrr is enabled so now I use my series x just for gaming and switch to the built in Google TV when I want to stream Netflix or something like that. I used to do everything through the Xbox but the tv works well for watching movies and automatically adjusts to dolby vision/Atmos when streaming through the Google TV os
