This is a wonderful TV and I can't wait to see it. I think customers are going to absolutely love it. I just wish Sony would have added the capability to have the audio flow out from the TV over Bluetooth and the TV speakers/actuators (or to an HDMI or Fiber Optic connected sound bar) simultaneously like they did with the new A95L this year. That is such an incredibly sought-after feature that SO many thousands of customers have been asking for for literally for years now. I really hope Sony finds a way to add this simultaneous audio-output functionality to every TV they bring to market in 2024. It just would have been so nice to see in on all of their TVs here in 2023 already.

I have been asked about that feature a lot and I know a lot of people wanted that capability throughout the line-up, but I will take the small victory of that being offered on the A95L as well as the other unique feature found only on the A95L. Can't wait to see the KZbin comparisons to see just how much better the XR Clear Image update is, and the improved image upscaling (which is an important feature) and the enhanced image depth processing. will be very interesting to see if it justifies the price increase, especially in a time of recession and record inflation - otherwise it's either the A80K for me or maybe wait until next year and see what happens with MLA/other major improvements. Thanks!

Well, keep in mind, any TV is priced at a premium for at least the first 90-days that it is out on the market. After that, you will likely start to see some sales and discounting. Happens with all the new TVs when they first hit the market.

What is the Picture in Picture like on this TV? Is it side by side or does it place one picture inside another picture? are the picture sizes adjustable? I see the remote has become very minimalist. Is there a jump back to the last channel watched button when watching OTA programing?

Sorry no Picture in Picture function and the only way to go back when your watching channels with the new remote will be with the back button but it will not be like the "Previous Button" that is on many cable remotes that will allow you to go back and forth between 2 channels.

@@LARRYfromSONY Absolutely that is important. Samsung and LG both have this information in their Game Bar/Game Optimizer menu. Modern game consoles and PCs run games in high framerate with VRR, so it's important to see how the game is actually performing. When VRR is turned on, the TV refresh rate is synced with the game's current framerate. Thus, if you show us the current refresh rate, we can see how the game is performing.

4:32 why don’t you add a PS5 port ( or Set a port ~ HDMI 1 to PS5 ) so you just plug a PS5 into it and it automatically recognises it and sets it to the best settings for you .

We do have that actually. Connect the PS5 to any of the HDMI 2.1 ports, the TV auto switched to Game Mode (or ALLM), even assigns that input as PS5 and when you turn on the PS5 it performs Auto HDR Tone Mapping for optimal performance and can even differentiate between game content and movie content played on your PS5. This is what we mean by "Perfect for PlayStation 5". I hope that helps and thanks for the comment! Larry

Yeah I had to wait for my Sony OLED to go on sale to get it at the price I wanted at well because I like to save money were I can too; so I was happy to see that like every model Sony makes there are promotional pricing throughout the year so keep and eye out you might be surprised.

Because my main using of tv is watching from hard drive.. i tried it at the agent showroom.. it takes a long time to read .. and the sales man remove it before completing readind ( so i did not try it really) .. is this will happen for just the first time using the hard drive or is there any other reason ?.. another question.. is this tv will show the 720 and lower resolution quality better?

Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend more than a Flash Drives but Yes there will be a long loading period depending on how much data is on the Hard Drive. Also, Yes the XR Clear Image Upscaling will do a great job in upscaling your 720/lower resolution content.

If you use the A80L as a center channel with a non-Sony AVR, how does the TV sound work? Do center channel sounds follow what is on the screen, or does it become static (centered mono sound) as with a regular center channel speaker?

Sorry to say that you wouldn't be able to with the A80L. If you're looking for center speaker functionality with a non Sony AVR, you must buy an A95L or Z9K.

The Z9K and A95L have traditional speaker terminals (pos and neg) the same as a normal center channel speaker. So you would run speaker wire from AVR to the TV.

Well its hard to say exactly why but with exclusive technology like Acoustic surface plus, Acoustic Center Sync, Bravia Core App integration, a Game Menu with Black Equalizer and Crosshairs on screen and those are just a couple features that I know for me make up for another HDMI 2.1 port.

No, it's not. The A80L is brighter, it has the XR Clear Image update to the XR processor, improved image upscaling, enhanced image depth processing, it gets the new Game Menu and it has the new Eco Menu. It will also get screen image resize feature (through an upcoming firmware update). It's also going to be available in an 83" version where A80K topped out at the 77" size in 2022. So, not really the same at all.

You do know that 98% of all gamers out there don't actually even own more than one HDMI 2.1 capable device, right? Also, you can get a 4-way HDMI 2.1 switch on-line for less than $70. You're never actually stuck with just those two HDMI 2.1 ports.

Interesting I have never seen that but I would suggest holding down the power button on the remote to restart the TV. I would always recommend checking for a software update and last I would recommend factory restoring the TV if it is still changing colors on all content.

Thank you for the suggestions. I do have it on auto-update and have manually checked for updates as well. Restarting the TV and the factory reset options will stop the issue temporarily, but it has always come back. If you have any other suggestions, I would appreciate it. Also, the ambient light sensor is turned off so it shouldn't be from that. The voice search has never worked well either. After resetting everything on it you can sometimes get it to work for 1 session, but after that it stops working. One of my friends has a Bravia with that exact same issue as well.@@JoshfromSony
