Even though I am a low budget filmmaker, the Burano is a dream come true. I hope to own one - some day. It's an exciting addition to Sony's line of cinema cameras.

Very interesting. Like blending both the high-end production world with the content creator world... hmmm. Seems like they're seeing how the industry is shifting right under our feet. I think a big oversight so far fom camera manufacturers has been orientation options (vertical video in camera) and expanded recording formats. It frustrates me that sometimes the best cameras give you a lot of features for capture but limited options in bitdepth, aspect ratio, and fps. Like that's the stuff we actually WANT to customize.

I'm not sure if you remember Nino, but someone at Cine D was interviewing a Sony Exec, and that Exec said not to rule out IBIS with Electric ND. Around 1-2 years later, here we are. Well done Sony!

I have a ton of cinema cameras, from RED to Sony. I love the color science of the SONY using my beloved SONY F35 CineAlta for years and still going strong. Now with the new BURANO, we are going to film a Supernatural Thriller DUST, first part of a Trilogy. As soon as we get the green financial light I'm getting two of these cameras.

Sony team - can you please make an extension cable for the viewfinder - the viewfinder needs to move forward so the camera can rest on the shoulder.

This Camera met all of my expectations.... except for one feature. Advertised on Sony's website as globalshutter like, the readout speed is similar to most cinema cameras on the market and slightly slower than the c400. But the image quality, IBIS, ND filters and reliability has been amazing.

As long as it updates with open gate feature, filming anamorphic of entire sensor, able to do FF 6k 16bit raw then I want this thing. I think the design of camera looks the best Sony's ever created and has many specs that all hit home. The Full Frame, 16bit raw, 16 stops DR, variable ND and camera body design does it for me, I don't exactly care about in camera stabilization though nor the 8k.. In fact, if this camera was 6k only and didn't have nobody stabilization and was somehow a little bit smaller that would probably be the ideal camera for me haha! Love the PL mount design that hides the E mount (which I probably would be using most of the time with a metabones ef adapter for ef lenses and only PL on occasion when I used cine zooms and anamorphic lenses... I am hype! Thanks CineD and Sony!

I’m not yet shopping this high up in the cine camera market, but Sony here has reset my expectations and gotten me to reconsider their lineup going forward. It may take another year before they start shipping the next FX9 and FX6, but I will be watching to see what happens. E-mount may be in my future for the first time. We will see.

It’s all very well saying you will listen to filmmakers and what they request, but they have proven that they don’t do that with the Alpha and FX line by failing to add anything with a meaningful firmware updates. Why should we believe this will be different? - Great interview, though.

They claim the BURANO has a “brand new sensor”, yet it has the exact same specs as the Venice 2 sensor. Who do they think they are fooling? This IS the Venice 2 sensor. They are simply claiming it is different to avoid frustration among those who invested in the V2.

Sorry, Not exciting at all. From the sample footage so far it's clearly just another 12 stops dynamic range, green tinge snooze fest. Sony have been claiming this mythical 15+ stops since the FS5/7. Lies. Lies. Lies. Always 12 max; often less. They should have stopped wasting peoples time and tried to compete with the ARRI 35 - The first cinema camera to actually try advance imaging with REAL improved dynamic range.

@lerecklessbadger2411 Жыл бұрын
What do you mean 12 stops? Throwing numbers is pointless like their corporate marketing… You should say Arri LF has X numbers of stops while this one has another number? It seems this camera should have the same number of stops as the Venice2 ? Is it not enough? Are you not smoking crack to expect this camera to have record stops like the Arri 35 ?
@personal4528 Жыл бұрын
@@lerecklessbadger2411 why do you and the rest of the sony fans lust over mediocrity? 12 stops has been the lab - measured amount of DR for sony cameras for over 10 years. No innovation. Just garbage re-bodies with green tinge footage.

definitely much higher dynamic range than the Blackmagic 6k RAW which is rated 13 stops. I've used these before and the Sony blows them out of the water.
