@@highfidelitysoundhaven78 I sold car audio from roughly 2001 to 2012 and I would agree. HOWEVER!!! Some of the newer Sony decks have some great options at a good price. Some of their newer decks are running up and over 40 watts RMS instead of 17. To some a little sound quality may be the trade off for power, USB, or Bluetooth. But yes, their older decks to me do sound better. Must have been the D Bass lol. I always gave my female riders the extra click of the D knob ha ha.

@@mohammadimteyaz2318 No problem. Keep in mind that some older decks have the AUX input that is meant to be used with a cd changer, Ipod adapter, or satellite radio. All of those units required a bus cable to send a signal to the deck to turn on the AUX. So if you are trying to hook up say a phone with a RCA to 1/8" mini jack it may not work.

My 5710 is stuck in Demo mode. How do I get demo mode turned off. The various modes just continuously scroll across the screen and none of the buttons seem to do anything. I don't have a remote. the Instruction manual refers me to page eleven from page four where it says one needs to reset the unit after disconnecting the battery (which I've done). Page eleven seems to refer me back to page four. The unit worked last year (its on my boat). Any thoughts?

Turn the radio ON. When it's on press the OFF button on the lower right face plate. Do not hold the OFF button just press it once so it shows the clock. It should start going into demo mode as well. Then press the "MENU" button. This will pull up a menu. Press the " + " to cycle through the settings until you come to "DEMO". Once there press on the right "SEEK" button to select DEMO OFF. Then press the ENTER button to retain the demo off setting. I just physically went out and did this. If this does not work then there may be something wrong with the faceplate or the radio itself. If this helped please be sure to leave a like!! :)

You can always try another faceplate and try it out. Keep in mind the price point of a replacement faceplate versus some newer model decks on the market. You may have to spend around $30 total known working e only to find out its deck or visa versa. For $70-$100 a newer deck with dated options can be had.

@kaknballz4 жыл бұрын
One would have to believe that if the radio is installed correctly it would work right? Since you don't have any sound I personally would remove the radio and test it outside of the vehicle. This way you can pin point and isolate the problem to either the car or the radio. If the radio works you then have to dig into the car to find the problem. could be something as silly as say.....the previous owner removed the aftermarket speakers from the car but left the old head unit.

Richard Bates Although your comment is a year ago. My CDX FW570 sometimes but rarely drops sound for no reason at all. One day, it completely stopped working. @@richardbates2367 Any standard contact cleaner with a small microfiber cloth will work just fine. Another thing to be sure is that the faceplate is sitting flat on the receiver itself. I've had cases where mine has had the plastic mechanism bend (mine survived a car accident). All I did was bend the plastic back straight, and the faceplate sits firmly. This even fixed the interment issues I was having previously. It is REALLY hard to believe that this Sony has been in three vehicles now. Still haven't heard a modern head unit sound nearly as good as this old Sony. I'm surprised you saw one on eBay for $200. I just bought another faceplate in July for $20. Also, scored the FW570s twin, the F5710 for $40 in mint condition and with the working remote. I'm actually using this one as a pre amp for a HiFi setup.

Plenty of sources for installation instructions online if you search "Sony CDX-F5710". The manuals will also have the color coding as well for the harness.
You have to purchase an adapter. A quick Google search should pull up some results with the model number of your deck.

@@nonamechannelsupeme Sony Unilink adapter allows you to connect an auxiliary source (iPod, MP3 player, etc) to a Sony car stereo that lacks the Aux Lite feature. It plugs into any Sony stereo with CD/MD changer controls, activating the audio input jacks. When you select the CD/MD changer as the source, you can listen to any auxiliary source that's connected to the stereo's RCA inputs. This cable makes it appear that a CD changer is connected to the Unilink connection on a Sony head unit with CD changer controls. By making it appear that a CD changer is connected to the Unilink input, the audio from an auxiliary source, such as a portable MP3 player, can be fed into the BUS AUDIO RCA inputs of the head unit. If your Sony head unit has the Aux Lite feature, this adapter isn't needed to input audio from an auxiliary audio source. When this adapter is used, a Sony CD changer cannot be connected to the head unit. Compatibility: Compatible with Sony UniLink head-units that are changer controllers that use a DIN cable as well as RCA inputs for its CD changer connections. For proper functionality, the head unit must also be "Sat Ready" and support scrolling text.
