And that’s why I’m concerned for the legend of Zelda movie because it’s being made by Sony and is being produced by Avi Arad so I have to little to no confident in that movie whatsoever and Miyamoto being part of the project doesn’t mean anything sure he’ll make sure it’s faithful to the games but other than that I don’t any high confidence and the real reason why illumination did not completely mess up The Mario movie was because Miyamoto was involved if he was not involved, illumination would absolutely messed it up and to be honest with you the illumination Mario movie is not terrible as a matter of fact, I really enjoy it, but I cannot deny that the movie had a lot to be desired and it could’ve been so much better especially if you gave it to dreamworks and I think dreamworks would did a great job with the Mario movie and I think they would’ve did a genuinely fantastic job with the legend of Zelda I mean, just look at the how to train your Dragon movies. Those are practically blueprints for a great animated legend of Zelda movie, not the quintessential zelda movie like studio ghibli Zelda movie but if you can’t get them to do it, then dreamworks would’ve been the second best choice

Trying to make them protagonists is the main issue. They wanted all of these movies to become franchises when they should have all been one and dones by design. They should only reappear in a spidey flick. These should have functioned like the penguin series. Take a villain and show us why they are so vile. They should be propping up the hero. To be fair, it’s very subjective. Some people actually thought The Batman was good. I found it derivative and forgettable. I’m sure some people (outside ‘content creators’) found those movies to be fine.

I hate when people like directors, stars and CEOs use this excuse. People only trust certain critics because they have seen some of their reviews on things they have also watched and see the critic has the same opinion of said movies, that creates a sense of trust between follower and critic as they respect their opinion. So if a critic says a movie is crap then chances are the followers of said critic would also think it’s crap. That’s not to say though if a critic says something is crap that means his or her followers won’t watch it, on the contrary they will just to see if it’s as big of a steaming pile as they had been told.

To be frank. Even if Kraven was pretty good. I still think it would have broken even tops. Just because Morbius and Madam Web sucks so bad. You cannot make a ton of shitty movies in a row and then have a good one and expect it to make a ton. It just won’t because nobody will go out to see it opening weekend. But I agree these studios need to have a plan. Edit - god D & D still ruined the end of Game of Thrones and I am so happy they are staying away from Star Wars.

I liked most Venom movies and believe it or not I sort of liked Morbius, but at the end of the day the Sony antihero verse wasn't all that great. It is to bad b/c this general idea wasn't a terrible one at all, but the execution was really lousy. I can honestly say Kraven The Hunter was one of the worst movies of 2024.

I'm really getting tired of this, the reason why they're not doing well is not because Spider-Man isn't in them. The first 2 Venom movies did very well at the box office and the 3rd one did decent. The Joker made a billion dollars without Batman. The sequel did not do well though for the same reason these movies are not doing well, the writing. Spider-Man not being in it has VERY LITTLE relevancy to the film's doing bad, so stop spreading that disinformation.
