Many thanks for the Vid - well made! In looking at the review the things that would tip me towards the Sony are 1. Viewfinder 2. touch screen and 3. Not mentioned Sony shoots Raw images, the Canon doesn't (subject to correction). The marginal benefits of the Sony are the marginally better image quality and the geater zoom, though I would not have thought either a great advantage, adn I would consider the Sony advantages, more important. Welcome any dissenting oppinions.

The Electronic View Finder is a huge advantage for the Sony. Your telephoto shots will also be steadier because of the added contact point near your eye. I have some nice maximum length video taken in low light that are quite steady.

I had a Canon 720 and just purchased the 740. Already I prefer the 720 as the quality is more true to life and the zoom is clearer. It has a lot of features I've yet to learn.

Big feature for me, is the 4k on the Sony has no crop, it's a full sensor readout

Sometime the spec written on paper don't reflect on actual. I can have 2 smartphones with equivalent spec but one is much more better than other.

I have both, done some vids on my channel. The extra zoom on the canon isn't really worth bothering with . the sony is smaller than the canon ,but if you have big hands ,it might be too small . the sound reproduction on the sony is also superior

From what I've seen the sony is far better for 4k quality and audio. I wanted the extra zoom but I'm thinking maybe at 40x pics aren't of a high quality anyway. The Sony does look sharper from what I've seen while zooming in longish range. Some Canon photos can look better but due to being artificially enhanced. The sunny seems more toned down and true to life. That's what I've taken from what I've seen. Is that yout experience mate?

@@letni9506 you need to edit settings out to get good image quality such ad change focus off face tracking, sharpen it up and turn brightness optimizer off

Having been a Canon SX***HS user for many years, it's still my favorite pocket-size power camera. The buttons/controls/menus are just so user-friendly touch-easy intuitive, where as here look at the Sony with its tiny little tedious back panel - no thanks. Two brands I'll never buy again for multiple reasons: Sony and Apple. =)

Sony is overpriced, Casa Blanca is very overpriced, Apple is just stupid overpriced. I'm typing this on a mac connected to a sony monitor with my 36 inch casa blanca fan running right now.
