Sony DCR-SX45 Camcorder Review

Love it, still using mine 10 years later. I have a few standard definition videos uploaded with it.

I purchased the DCR SX45 around two years ago, and it is still going strong. Reliable, beautiful zoom, lightweight. The video quality is not awesome though. I would compare it to something between 480 and 720p. If you want HD, I recommend Sony's HDR-CX series, the HDR-CX220 is a very nice choice if you are on a tight budget.

Nah the quality is great. I can upscale to 720 easily without it being noticeable. Also the CX180 is the HD cam of choice as it's exactly like this one but HD, the 220 is poor build quality.

I'm on a budget and looking for a camera. I would like high quality too. I was considering this one but seeing that the Iphone had a better picture quality worries me. Is it really that bad? If you find any cameras around the same price range that have a better wuality could you make a video on it? Thanks!

Can you turn off the steady shot? I'm going to be getting either this or the CX series, i don't mind it being low quality, I actually prefer it for skateboarding(kinda like the Sony vx1000)
