It’s pretty much the first lens I purchased along side my Sony A6400 camera which is my first proper camera as before that I was mainly using my smartphone for my photography! Of course as a beginner on a budget I was looking for an extremely versatile lens that I could start with and this lens seemed to fit in well with all of my current needs so it’s somewhat like the one lens that does it all for me currently as a beginner with non smartphone photography! Of course I also love the convenience that comes with it as it would also make it a lot easier for me to travel with my camera! :)

This is the first lens I bought for my a6300 and the oss was quite necessary. I brought it with me on a two week trip to Kazakhstan and never felt I needed to switch lenses. So for a travel lens this is actually a very good lens, especially since I wanted to limit the weight of my camera equipment I had to carry around all day.

18-135 mm len for sony a6400 is enough wide to show 2 people on the screen while i hold my stick close to me or i have to stretch a lot?

Is the sharpness better than the stock lens?
@Greenepyon2 жыл бұрын
This lens is absolutely killer for travel. Pair this lens with a Sigma 30mm f1.4 and the sigma 16mm f1.4 and you get a complete, very compact travel kit.

This is a home run 18-135 since it is the smallest and lightest among all systems.

Can you do review on tamron 18-200 DI III VC for sony e mount?
@xenonsens4 жыл бұрын
Great review. Just a quick question, you said 18mm was 24 mm fullframe, isn’t 18mm in more like 27-28 mm in full frame?
@StefanMalloch4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man .Ya I messed that up. Its more like 27mm

Best all around general purpose lens. Light, sharp, and very useful range. Mine is really sharp 70-135, not so much 18-70 but still excellent. Only neg really is it is primarily a good light lens only.

Hi Stefan, thanks for this review. I mainly watched your lens reviews, but I definitely need more help. I have a Sony a6500 with a 35mm F1.8 OSS prime lens, but I need one all-in-one lens to cover as much as possible: travel, landscape, city, and wildlife, with zoom (primarily for photography). Sony is a preferred price range of $500-$800. I can't decide between Sony E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS, Sony 18-105mm F4, or Sony 10-20mm F4........or do you have some better suggestions. Tamron 18-300 is also an option but too big and heavy for my needs. Thank you in advance for your help.

Great video, thanks. I bought this lens with the Sony a6600. What lens would you recommend for low light?
@StefanMalloch2 жыл бұрын
Check out the Sigma F1.4's. They are great in low light!

Such a great review! I just found your channel. So happy!! Do you think 55-210mm for the price is worth it?
@nphotodotorg26903 жыл бұрын
If you find it in $149 (it goes on sale), it's not bad. If not, it's not worth it. I have one and I hardly ever use it. Save up and buy either Sony 18-135mm or 70-350mm (if need longer zoom).

Thanks for this review. Yes, this lens seems a bit overpriced but then again it is really compact with great auto focus, Image Stabilisation and on the basis of your video, impressive image quality. I shoot almost entirely FF but I'm tempted by this native Sony lens for my a6000, and, especially against the FF Tamron 28-200 competition . You mention distortion and vignetting but these are corrected in camera for JPEGs so what's the big deal? Is that not the reason why the camera has such a feature? And if you shoot raw files, then post processing correction is the easy solution.
@bobpaulson9r72fk24 Жыл бұрын
I'm really considering buying this lens used on eBay. Or, skip and save for the 70-350 although that's a very much different lens. Hmmm decisions.
