Thank you, Mr. Alister, for this nice and sensitive explanation. Your method is very nice. You explain clearly, slowly and very structured. I appreciate your method of explaining/teaching :)

I'm fairly new to all of this [I've actually just bought an FS700R!] and your video explained exposure clearly and concisely in a way that really helped me understand the concepts involved; concepts i'd struggled to grasp before Thank you!

This video is so good, Mr Chapman explains the topics so very clearly and understandably, especially for me, being a senior new owner of a Sony video camera and not so used to technical English. After al these months of learning I keep coming back to your way of explaining. Many many Thanks, again :-)!!

I owe you like a million beers between your information on how log/exposure works, as well as your AMAZING LUTS for S-log 2 and 3. I have been wrestling with finding a good highlight roll off, and I finally nailed it with you 2 stop over lut, and exposing my zebras so my whites were around 85-90 percent. The Alexa Like lut is magical....

Thanks for the clarity Alister - coming from DSLRs to an FS7 there is quite a difference between 'ISO' and 'Gain' and how you use them, especially when you add log to the mix.

Well produced, and professional video. Thank you for your hard work and your willingness to help. However I am still a little confused because even though you gave a great explanation on exposure, there was never any direct explanation on what literal buttons to push, dails to adjust or switches to flick in order to achieve any exposure settings on an SF-100. For example, when I adjust the Aperture dial on the FS-100 nothing happens. If I push the menu button and go into the menu settings then I can see where to make some adjustments but it doesn't correlate with the dial on the side of the lense-area in any way, whatsoever. Does anyone know how to literally, access the controls for the Aperture, ISO and Shutter Speed and Framerate for the SF-100?

I was wondering if you have had the opportunity to film home interiors with the new Sony PXW-Z150 and Z280 where they have incorporated 3 CMOS half inch sensors. Interior walls with windows are a problem because of the exterior extreme brightness on one end of the spectrum and the dark furniture on the interior end of the spectrum. Are the Internal ND filters enough or is it still necessary to add external filters to the lens to reduce the dynamic range. I'm a professional real estate photographer and use HDR photography to capture what the eye sees to the best of my technical ability. I'm hoping to do the same with video. Any insight you may have would be fantastic. I'm looking at the Sony PXW-Z280 to purchase next month.

Why slog3 is required to be over exposure?
@petrub275 жыл бұрын
the bottom part of the curve is compressed so you do not want to record tones there ; now, this is exactly where the shadows lives; so, by overexposing you lift and protect the shadows so the grading will be more efficient; hope that help, like subscribe ring the bell follow blah blah blah lol

If a person has to see this common sense lesson for beginners they shouldn't be spending the sort of money this camera will cost. Either you have the basic knowledge of how to use your gains or not, if not you need to get a mobile phone camera and shoot with that.

Many previous video cameras have not required the user to work with shutter speed or aperture. It's nice to have it explained to assist users moving forward.
