I bough one about 2 weeks ago for KZbin videos. I really like the combination of the xlr-handle thingy and new Rode Go II mic set. I can have one thing less when filming when I don't have the external audio recorder any more and no audio files to sync on edit. Best thing ever for lazy people like me :D Also the 4k@120fps is nice, especially when you can trust that the camera won't get a heat stroke. I have had couple times A6000-series cameras dying on the summer when we have had bigger explosions and it takes long time to get everybody far enough to be safe before it starts to rain car parts or something else like that :D Only bigger negative is the screen, it's just too small so I have to use external when doing something more demanding or something that I have to perfect. Aaand the nd-filters would been really nice also. But in total solid upgrade from A6000 series and still looks close enough so I can easily mix the footage from those with this new camera (I have two A64000s, A6500 and A6600 :D)

Same! I actually bought an adhesive backed cold shoe and stuck it to the top of the XLR module so I could stick the wireless receiver up there and plug it into the 3.5mm input. Pretty sweet!

I use shutter angle on my GH5 exclusively. I change framerate quite a bit for some of the shoots I do and never need to think about shutter speed. It's pretty much a deal breaker to not have that on a cinema camera.

It’s crazy how useful the GH5 still is. I had the agency I work for buy one a few years ago and we’re still using it. Never had a single issue with it.

I currently have an X-T4 (Fuji gang!) but know that if I want to get serious with video I'll need to go Sony or Canon standard at some point. I always use intern stabilisation on small camera and no stabisation on the big one (like the red) because it's heavy! What about the Blackmagic 6k Pro? A medium body, no stabilisation, it's possible to shoot nice handhelds with a cine lens without accessories?

I always love your videos. Informative, real world experience and funny. What more could you ask for. You're right about an FX5 concept. IMHO same overall size but a little deeper to to house variable electronic ND, more pixels, built in XLR inputs and I'd like a rear mounted hot swappable dual battery solution. Throw in time code and a few other professional goodies. Upgrade the whole up line to keep each camera fresh and not competing with each other. I guess I want it all but at a price that I only need to sell one kidney to purchase. Maybe the ability to easily change the type of lens mount. Thanks PJ.

BMPCC 6K PRO Question: What range do the built in ND filters cover and if you are shooting with a fast lens would you still need to add additional ND filters for the correct exposure?

Pretty much the perfect small-format videocamera. But if we're gonna be picky, I would have liked: - Bigger and higher resolution LCD (this is now one of the smallest and lowest resolution ones on the market) -Built in ND-filters (like FX6) -(Canon's lovely RF mount lenses ;))

Would like to see the 6k pro against the C70. People have also been talking about colour shifts in the screen and from the ND filters. Did you face any issue? Also, one thing that puzzled me always was that internal NDs are still in steps. If you had to change ISO to a non-native level to compensate for 1/3 stop changes, wouldn't that impact the noise to a certain degree?

Internal nds will always be in steps..... unless its sony’s electronic nd but they prob have patents on that. Its a physical piece of glass being put in front of the sensor.....

Hey Gene...I bought a Sony FX3 and was using it in my studio with an dummy battery adapter. It go hot and shut down after about a half hour of shooting. Shooting 4K @ 30 FPS. I popped out the dummy battery and it was quite cool. The studio was getting warm, probably in the mid 70s. The Fan is set to auto. I have a LUMIX GH5s and have been using it for several years with an dummy battery AC unit with no overheating issues. Is the FX3 going to be super heat sensitive? I know you stuck in an oven and it seemed to go for ever. Thanks, Dennis

I sold my A7SIII for the FX3 simply for the XLR inputs. I was trying to find an XLR-K3M for the longest time but they've been sold out everywhere. Plus I don't love how they hang off of the hotshoe. The top handle on the FX3 is ideal! Sound is great too. I also never used my EVF so that wasn't a loss. I wish Sony included two 1/4-20 mounts on the side so we could add a handle. Only having one means we'll need a cage either way.

But with a (full) cage you probably can't use the top handle and you lose your XLR inputs.

@@LampeProductions_nl I'm sure they'll get creative with cages given there's so many 1/4-20's on the FX3. I could imagine a 1/2 cage that covers the sides and bottom but leaves the top open or partially open to allow for the top handle to still attach. For the most part I'll only be using XLR's tripod mounted so its not a huge deal. For me, this is a really ideal camera. I can throw it in my backpack, or put it on a tripod with high quality mics!

It uses EF like the 6k that's already out. It just has built in ND and pivot screen (1500nits) and an optional viewfinder, and better battery (Sony NP-F550) and all BMPCCs got upgraded color science as well as 2 XLRs. Gene lemme know if I got it all lol.

Hi Potato jet! I am thinking of upgrading to a cinema camera, and basically was considering FX3 too, but thought to go for FX9 actually. Though I wasn't really sure, as it's basically older camera, and I'm not sure if it's worth to invest in. Another is Alpha 1, which is interesting and very good video, but I saw many reviews that it overheats as it is not meant for video actually
