Yep it looks dope and PRO, but ohnestly still more cons than pros with this setup: heavy as hell, no audio (you removed top handle with XLRs), what's the point of rails when no follow focus is being used and lens support is needed only for a really long or heavy lenses, you get rid of most of the function buttons from top handle and side grip which is by many one of the best feature of this camera. I can see this setup usefull only when you need wireless transmitter, other than that, you can simply put bigger BP battery with d-Tap and power the monitor or wireless vision. I guess i will just buy the top plate for my fx6 for more mounting points but never ever get rid of my top handle and side grip ;-) Cheers!

Oh yeah, the rods... If he'd at least let the rods carry the battery... why would anyone let the cameras built in battery mount carry all the extra weight of a vmount battery if you could have mounted it on the (in this configuration completely useless) rods? This isn't looking like a rig intended for real world use

@@adambernau8991 if you had watched the video properly you’d see that the V mount adapter is also screwed on to the top plates
@adambernau89912 жыл бұрын
@@rorycowieson5924 you're right, thanks for pointing that out. I would agree that the adapter might be quite useful in a setup without rails. And while I would further agree that each component in this setup has its use case, the selection of components for this particular setup still strikes me as odd. Why add rails if you're not using them? Why replace a top handle wich has controls and audio inputs with another top handle wich has none of that? Most of the choices he made seem to focus on improving the overall look of the rig, not its functionality.

Damian, I agree to everything you write! I had a FS7 before I bought my FX6 and love how light and compact the new camera is. With this rig it's bigger than a FX9. For Sony UWP-D wireless audio sets you can buy an affordable mount to install the receiver (one or two channels) without cables on the MI shoe. The camera powers the receiver, no V-mount battery needed. Furthermore this rig doesn't allow to shoot from the shoulder. I need that from time to time. I bought a top plate, an extension arm for the side grip and a shoulder mount to which I attached the large plate of my Camgear tripod. If I want to use a slider I can take the FX6 off without tools within ten seconds. Thankfully the shoulder mount uses a Manfrotto compatible plate which also works on slider and gimbal.

Same thought, the top plate + v-mount-adapter is amazing, but replacing 2 awesome grips for 2 worse grips, I don't see the point, even if you're shooting vertical a lot, just seems odd...🤔

Lovely rig but with one massive flaw: it got rid of the essential (in my opinion) XLR audio inputs. Looks great though!

Yes, but we need a lanc function on the sidegrip an the ability to pull focus via the nucleus nano, that would be a really great thing! Regards

I already have my FX6 rigged to (personal) perfection, but I still love to watch other people rigging their camera!

You don't have to power your monitor with extra NP-F battery, you're putting to mach weight on it. Get dummy NP-F battery and plug it to V-mount battery.

Great video bro! I have a question: after you mount the atomos shinobe, how do you control the fx6 menu? Since you removed the original monitor.
@guidorehme2 жыл бұрын
Use a Portkeys Monitor instead, it can control the Cam, can power a Nucleus Motor and you can rack focus with it! For that i use teh LH5L, it´s a cheap one but with build in Bluetooth and so on. :-) Regards

Where can you find the side cheese plate that goes over the handgrip? I cant seem to find it anywhere.

No question, it looks great, but no XLR inputs and it still looks like a lower back killer due to no shoulder Mount and missing a proper viewfinder

I dont see the benefit of using the Tilta handgrip over original Sony as you'll lose a lot of functions. Just shit the wireless to another location.

Alex it’s so beautiful and many thanks , why there is no breakdown for components, please share it, it will be more helpful for everyone. Also would be great if you suggest a rig that would be easy to switch from Tripod to Gamble, nobody did such this explanation

With Sony opting to put both XLR inputs on the top handle, this system renders the camera mute, making it an unpractical rig for nearly all run & gun set ups the FX6 was built to champion...

This dude builds some of the most asinine rigs. Bottom rails for what? Lens mount support for what? It doesn’t even connect. I remember this dudes pocket 4K rig that was front heavy like shit. Lol. To each their own. But I definitely don’t take rig tips from this guy.
