Sony G-Master 24mm f/1.4 vs Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2.0

In this episode, I put 2 lenses side by side going through some stills and some video clips. Both lenses are phenomenal clearly but is one better than the other? Better question is, do you see enough difference to prefer one over the other?
Both lenses were mounted on Sony a7iii mirrorless full frame cameras for this episode shooting in identical settings.

Thank you for your helpful review. Looking to purchase a lens that is good all around for travel. Would you recommend the 24 mm G Master? I am debating between the 24 mm G Master or the Zeiss 55mm1.8 which also have very good reviews. Thank you

Hello! Thanks for making this video! At 6:56, the lighthouse shot you can see big vignetting on the Gmaster and not on the Batis. Also, I'm having a hard time between buying the 24 Gmaster and the 18 batis. I would like to do stars at night and the Gmaster is supposed to be great for this, so you get stars and not dandruff. lol However, I think the 18mm Batis would be better for selfie situations. You look great in this video at 24mm but, how would you look if you HAD to hold the camera? Cheers

If we are talking about smartphones I heard that a wide angle lens is between 25mm to 35mm...is this correct? And anything lower than 25mm is considered "ultrawide"? Please advice. thanks.

Zeiss Batis looks better in nearly every photo. IMO

I agree with You, but perhaps "only" in way as if the photographer was more inspired, had a better artistic eye/aproach with the Batis. Hardly the thechnical 1mm difference, or maybe more in reality? I can only feel this way though, because on my small screen now, I cannot Iook out for other differences, I would have to inspect the files. What I really can not begin to compare is f/1.4 vs f/2. But I like his photos with the Batis more :-)

Couldn’t tell a difference. But the reason ppl are seeking the GM is the lower aperture. Can be a huge difference in low light. As well for smoother bokeh

Hi Khiem. I purposely didn't in order to match up against the Batis that can only go 2.0. Some stills towards the end were shot 1.4. Thank you so much for your time watching.
