Still running this bad boy in 2024 as my daily trading laptop and it's still running three screens and executing trades like it's brand new.

I just bought accidentally T480s thinking that its T480 but with typo from online seller lol 😅 Coming from Macbook Pro user of 10yrs. But I remember wanting thinkpads back in the day. This is finally my time to use thinkpads, I know I'm late for the party. It'll arrive next week and I hope I'll enjoy it.

This one is the real deal, I own both Mac & some of Leno latest variants but this one provides the best as it goes for productivity, this particular machine is just supreme at any level even being so called obsolete

if you have the camera slider then you do not have the webcam that does windows hello.........the hello webcam only comes on the model with the highest spec screen and there's no slider for the cam then.

I have this laptop in 2023 and will be using it for 2024. The only bad thing is, it is a fingerprint magnet.

I like t480 better than anything because it has dual battery and no soldered ram.

Could this still be used on old Autocad versions? For 2011?

I prefer the T480. It’s got the power bridge and I got a 72wh external battery giving me more than double the battery life. 2 upgradeable ram slots. 2 ssd slots etc.

Since 2015 have been working my way through the Lenovo model range but 10 years in arrears. Its 2023 and I have recently unpacked a new old stock Lenovo T420s. I upgraded the RAM to 16Gb, swapped the HDD for a SSD, installed Windows 10, added a 2nd 1Tb SSD SATA drive in the CD slot. And voila! Art Deco form with great function at a great price!

I have such a strange problem, namely I bought two identical - post-leasing ThinkPad_y 470 20JN-S10V35 and despite the fact that they have the same BIOS version of the graphics system installed and the same Intel driver, in one the maximum screen resolution is 1920x1080 (and it should be) and in the other max it - 1600x900. The same is shown not only by Windows but also by the Lenovo Test run in the BIOS of the Motherboard. It is the same in Win 10 and Win 11. GPU -Z shows differences between the two Paws in BUS WIDTH - (good)-128bit / (bad)-64bit and Bandwidth (good)-34.1GB/s and (bad)-17.1GB /p. In addition, both laptops work decently - only the one with 1920x1080 has a nicer, brighter and more contrasting image. What do you think could be causing this?

I have one that has the i5 2450m and it does pretty good for placing over 700th place out of the top 1406 CPUs.

The 4th Gen Intel CPUs are very good as far as I7 4800MQ, I7 4810mq. The I7 4900mq comes in at 414 place and is in some of Dells better laptops. Even better is the I7 4940mx and I7 4930mx, coming in around 380/1406 and 384/1406. First thing to consider in a laptop is the CPU and where in falls in the line of the top 1406. If its over 500 then you may want to keep looking.

I go by the cpu place out of the top 1406 cups. Anything under place 500 is ok. Example the Dell 7720 laptop has a I7 7820u that places 495/1406 place 1 being the best. And the 7720 is a very good laptop for 7th gen.

Dell has some good stuff that just isn't one

great video i bought a refurbished one for $350.. will turn it into a portable linux machine i think linux will do fine on these machines. and for what i need it for well just something to have portable around my place and if i need to take something on the road it is a nice laptop and whats nice is that i can upgrade it too.
